Merry Christmas! Here's a BIG Update!

Merry Christmas, everyone! 

Let me kick things off by saying thank you. Thank you so much for making my 2017 the most productive and fulfilling year of my life. That is no exaggeration, quite literally I've never worked so hard on anything before. For you all to enjoy what I do and support me in all the ways you do is nothing short of life changing for me. 

A year ago I had to be talked into creating this Patreon, because I thought I'd just embarrass myself and look silly. Instead, you all chose to help me turn this odd, peculiar hobby into a life changing job. 

I know I say thank you a lot, as I should, but don't think those words are ever a matter of habit or reflex...they're words that I dwell on often, and don't use lightly. You are an active participant in changing my life, and that's a big freaking deal to me.

All that said, here are some updates!

Welcome new Patrons!

Is it getting crowded in here, or is it just me? There are so many of you now! There has been a big jump in Patrons over the past few months, and I think a big part of that is due to early access (do you all like that feature?) and me sharing the posts on Tumblr when something is up early. 

It's nice because not only does it give people the ability to hear new audios ASAP, it lets me schedule my posts, something I really struggled with in the first half of the year. It also lets people know what is coming up next, a feature that has been requested quite a bit. 

I want to thank my $1 pledges specifically for not panicking during Patreon's fee debacle earlier in the month. One of my favorite Patreon features is that I've made the $1 tier my archive tier. You get all the goods but the exclusives from higher tiers, and I like it that way. 

Know that you can easily change your pledges too. If you want to go up for one month to snag a special audio that catches your eye and drop back down, that's something a lot of people seem to like doing and I love that it seems to be a pretty convenient feature!

YuuriVoice is on YouTube!

You've likely seen the barrage of videos I've been posting on Tumblr at this point, but yes, I'm on YouTube! There's a very large, active community of ASMR Roleplayers on YouTube and I've been planning to get my content on there for about six months now. It's been a process, but finally, it's here. There's a very large, very special collaboration that is going up today that will likely have a nice impact on my growing channel, and I can't wait to share it all with you. 

Right now the videos are sort of a beta test for future projects. People seem to really like the visual novel layout, and it never hurts to have content in more places, more accessible, organized into playlists, etc.

For those of you who have gone and subscribed, viewed, liked...thank you very much. YouTube can be such a beast to figure out, but things are going well! Sidon and Guzma are coming soon as well.

Goals for 2018

I loved running the poll for the bonus audio this month, and I've realized that you all really engaged in the voting and just about everyone participated. I want to do more things like that in the future, not just for audios, but for figuring out how I can improve things and understanding what you all enjoy! That way I can get even better at delivering the things you love.

I need to set up some new goals for Patreon! When I set up my original goals, I never thought I'd reach my final goal of 1k. It wasn't realistic. Now I need to get creative. My first idea is to set a goal that will "unlock" more sound effects in my audios! Other than that...well, I'll have to think on it.

I really want to streamline the way I do things. I'm getting close to being able to just sorta let things roll, but I still have times where I overwhelm myself. Being my own writer, director, and actor is pretty intense when you think of how much content I put out. I need to think about how I can make things easier on me without sacrificing the quality and charm that you all expect from me. 

On a personal level, I've basically been able to purchase all upgrades I could for now in regards to recording improvements. With all my upgrades checked off, I'm now able to save money...something I've never been able to do. I hope to buy a car in 2018...and I haven't owned a car in about six years. Most of you probably don't know this, but I love driving. I've been a driver since 15 when I would sneak out in my car that I was "letting a friend drive" and would go on little adventures. Finally...it looks like 2018 will be the year I'll have a car again. I know this probably sounds very silly to some of you, but being able to drive, listen to music, explore and go on drives was basically what kept me alive through high school. It was therapeutic for me, and winding up with no car in my 20's has basically taken away one of my favorite ways to unwind and get out of my head for a bit. So...you all haven't only enabled me to put food on my table, you're going to help me get back a part of my life that I've dearly missed.

Not to mention with a car, I can like, travel to conventions and stuff. That's an exciting thought!
