(Lemix) Repeatable Quest Glitch-Fast Infinite Research Completion And Guild Reputation

A patreon very kindly sent me the following information:

I just found something no one seems to have mentioned yet, at least not that I have seen, there's a Quest that's bugged somehow in Remix.

When you enter Stormwind from Dalaran it auto pops, the name of the quest is "In the blink of an eye" and it's the original quest that took you to the Legion expansion when it came out. Here's the kicker tho, you can infinitely turn in that quest. When you turn it in and then return to Stormwind, it pops up again.

...the prerequisite is the quest chain https://www.wowhead.com/quest=40519/legion-the-legion-returns

And you have to start it on the dialogue option when talking to Eternus "Quest: How did Dalaran come to be on the Broken Isles?" and then you can accept the chain and you basically need to finish it completely

Unfortunately Blizzard partially fixed this as I was testing and it no longer offered quest rewards.

However I noticed that it still counts as a completed quest, so it still has a number of uses. The main one I could find is for Infinite Reseach Quests from Eternus-the repeatable quest counts towards any requirement to complete a number of quests in an infinite research quest-there are several of these.

Additionally guild reputation is still acquired solely through quest completion and this counts for that purpose.

There are probably other uses for this I haven't discovered yet.

Not sure if this is known, but while I was walking with Prince Farondis during the “Save Yourself” quest, I noticed that Legion Assault mobs are visible and killable during the quest. I tested a few spots, and the Temple of a Thousand Lights is extremely good for leveling. The Dreadsworn Annihilators were giving me almost a full level each. I pulled around 20 levels in about 12 minutes, and my XP bonus was only around 150%. Obviously this only works when the assault is active, but in theory you could park a row of characters on “Save Yourself” and just wait for the Azsuna assault to start. One thing to keep in mind: I did this late at night 11PM, so you may lose XP during the day when more people who are doing the assault legitimately.

That's a really good write-up. Willl play about with this.....

On Lemix, there's a potential exploit with your weapon's versa (limits unbound) and it's damage reduction. It's reproducible, but not sure if it's exploitable. First, the base DR seems to cap somewhere around 75% damage reduction, no matter your actual versatility %. (Doesnt matter if you have 150, 250 or 999). However, the actual damage mobs do to you seems to be quite wonky. There's reports of people going into a m+ dungeon with decent amount of versa, resetting their versa, and getting hit for 400m by normal mob aa's. Second, the (potentially) exploitable part: If you go to a dungeon or a raid with zero versatility, kill a mob, then add 150 versatility, kill a mob, and then add more versatility (another 150 or to your max) the damage reduction stacks. Basically, I've seen mobs that were hitting for 350-400k go down to 5-8k melee hits. It seems the damage reduction is calibrated on entering or leaving zones, and adding more versatility inside a zone, after killing a mob, somehow multiplies the damage reduction. However, the problem is that as far as I can tell, 1) this amount resets to the normal -75% damage reduction when you engage a boss and b) it's not exploitable in M+, since when you start a mythic + dungeon, the versatility gets "normalized" and brought to the appropriate level. This is basically an immortality bug, and if properly exploited, will absolutely break the game in Lemix (beyond the level it's already broken.) I'd also suspect that people are already exploiting this, given that we've seen keys up to +187 cleared succesfully in time, which should otherwise be quite impossible, even with 999% vers and Remix's gear levels. To reproduce this and test for yourself: Use a character with atleast 250-300 versatility. Go to a dungeon (have 0% versatility when entering, e.g reset your limits unbound). Kill a single mob from start of the dungeon, set versa to 150, kill another mob, and set versa to 300 or the highest amount you can. (With capped weapon and the right method, I suspect you could do this for multiple steps). Note the damage you take from white attacks at each stage. You should see the damage drop significantly between each step.
