A Server, an Update, and an Interview Walk into a Tavern...
Added 2019-04-15 19:35:21 +0000 UTCHello, all!
After an interesting few days, I've migrated the 5eMagic system to a new server environment. It's been a fun... well, for me.
For the rest of the world, it's not all that exciting, but it does mean that the new Open Graph images should be working now. Share your shops on Facebook, Twitter, Slack, or other OG-capable app, and you should see your shop's name in the shared link's image. See this example screenshot from Discord:

Most people should already see the new server (and therefore the new features), but some users may still have a cached record that points to the old server. If you see an alert across the top of the screen like this...

...then you're still seeing the old site. You're welcome to use it, but any changes you make (like generating shops, saving changes, etc.) will go the way of the dodo. Give it an hour or two, and it should be back up.
Also, as a side note, I've made a few minor updates and bumped our patch version. So the new server is live with the new v0.10.1 (check the footer of the site or the changelog to see which version you're running).
Despite the dramatically increased hosting costs, I'm excited for the new hosting environment. It'll help to streamline future development, and I can scale it with traffic growth easier.
So feel free to tell all your friends about 5eMagic. More traffic and more patrons means more value, which means more time I can invest. And maybe less eye rolls from my wife when I excitedly start buzzing about a new idea or some random Keeper feedback.
As a fun, final bit of news to update, one of our patrons recently interviewed yours truly for Rand Roll, a blog about random tables and generators. You can read the interview online at https://randroll.com/archive/creative_interview_5e_magic_shop/.
Thanks as always, and may your games be magical.

I added another layer of server protection earlier this morning, and there's another propagation time in effect. You should start seeing it clear up in the coming hours. Sorry for the inconvenience!
