I haven't put together the clues of this episode yet, but it seems kind of like I inferred before--the aliens came offering a tremendous gift, humanity reacted poorly, and the US seems to have done the worst of all. Maybe when I watch it again, it will come clearer. I wonder if the crystals that appear on the stone at the end are related to the loud bursts of color the mouse was observing regularly at the crack.
