Happy New Year's Eve everyone! Sorry this is a long read, but wanted to share my thoughts before 2019 is here. Each year, we always say how the next one will be better than the last. Honestly, looking back on the previous, past years for me, my life has been pretty, darn good. Each year was full of ups, downs, turnarounds and surprises (And this is more about my life, not the world around cause that's a whole other can of worms I rather not open lol). I've gotten some amazing opportunities that even surprised myself. I also had some past regrets though too, but in the end, it got me where I am today and I'm pretty happy with it.
No one's life is perfect and though it may seem like it is for many others (especially on social media based platforms), no one truly shows the struggles within their journeys (or at least not as much as the positives/final outcomes). So you must always remember, no matter how far down you may be, everyone has been where you are. It may not be exactly the same situation, but everyone has felt that pain of feeling hopelessly lost in this world or not knowing what comes next for us. And that's why, it's always fascinating how far we as humans, can always push ourselves to make something of our lives. Why it's always worth pursuing to continue on doing so, no matter what goals or dreams you may have. It's not whether they can come true, but how you go about making it a reality for yourself.
What I accomplished this year (off the top of my head):
- Moved to Texas (though that was like the end of 2017, but close enough).
- Survived living in an apartment for my first time for a while year! (Keeping with rent/bills/etc.)
- Got to establish myself at a few studios including FUNimation, where I got my first role in show I love. (Yay Overlord)!
- Learning more editing/audio techniques and being experimental with creating videos for Youtube.
- Taking improv/acting classes as well as meeting talented individuals in the industry. Also, getting the opportunity to work with such amazing people.
- Establishing more of myself on Youtube with my covers. Not only has this helped pay for some bills, but it's gotten me acting/singing work too.
- Wrote an original song (though it's based off Pokemon, I still did it)!
- Got to sing an official theme song jingle for an Anime show and see my name on the back on the DVD box. (Bananya)
- Got to voice in a crazy, Anime film and see my name on the big screen for a small premiere party. That was pretty surreal even if the movie is kind of wacky lol (Hells with Sound Cadence/TFS)
- Being able to cook more in general. Also, it's been fun trying new things!
- Working part time at a job where the atmosphere is comfortable. No anxiety issues there! Yay!
Thank you, my Moonies! You are part of my accomplishments. Your support has helped me through the dark times and gotten me to reach to levels I've never dreamed of. I wish lots of luck to you all in 2019, but don't forget how you got to this point in your life as well. We need to appreciate what we've gone through in the past to make us stronger for the future. I see that now and I hope to get better because of it. Love you all! <3 <3 <3
