Should I slow down?
Added 2024-08-15 12:30:05 +0000 UTCHi! This is a survey more directed to the people who support me for how they are here. I've been thinking for a while and a question came up....
"Should I slow down with the variants and try to bring in better drawing concepts?"
I know a lot of people who are here, are for the quantity of variants, but also for the quality of my pics/concepts. For a long time I have tried to bring the best of me in my drawings, but sometimes one gets "exhaustion" from so much drawing and the results are not the best.
That's why I thought it was fair to ask if I should stay where I am or go slower with the variants, do less and improve in their quality.

Maybe a thought is do the same background, but different position? It’s a change that may take more time, but it does add more variety to your drawing. What it sounds like based on your response, you seem worried about too much repetition, which is a valid thing to worry about. Try it out. After like 8 variations of one pose, maybe switch it up. It’s all about experimentation, and see what works best

2024-08-15 14:53:05 +0000 UTCSorrybfor the long rant, just don’t want tonseenlybfavorite artist get burnt out because you want to please us. Well rather than posting 50-60 drawing a month I wouldn’t mind if drew fewer but in a better quality and having you feel mentally and physically better

2024-08-15 14:38:17 +0000 UTCYes, as time went by I realized that I was increasing the quantity and worsening the final result, which is not good at all!

2024-08-15 14:19:20 +0000 UTCThanks for the extensive answer Murapi! I understand your point, I mean, I also like to do variations, it's like a guilty pleasure but of course, to deliver drawings with many variations well finished I should have more days in the month hahahah For example, Link's drawing was much easier for me to finish than Caitlyn's when it came to coloring it. But the thing is, working each month on 4 drawings with at least +/- 15 variants, + 2/3 commissions, + comic pages ( and sometimes + advances for when I have “vacations” so as not to leave you all with nothing those days) ends up tiring mentally haha

2024-08-15 14:17:31 +0000 UTCDo whatever is healthiest for you personally tbh. Can’t maintain any kind of output if you burn out by drawing too many variants, just gotta find that balance

2024-08-15 14:06:04 +0000 UTCWell, honestly I’m fan of the variations but it’s also important you as artist are happy with the drawings you make. So it’s kinda up to you, and which way you wanna go. You could still make a few variations but focus more on the quality. And I’m sure if you tell us, supporters on Da or Patreon that drawing so many variations it’s exhausting you and that you don’t want to let us down by focusing more on the quality of I’m sure most of us will understand after all we support you for he art you make in the first place and not the quantity so if you decide less variations and more quality idd still support you Kiimo. The only thing I ask if you can forgive me for not voting here because it’s a tough choice and i don’t what to make you feel you need to draw variations like you do now, but also don’t want to give you the idea if you decide to focus on quality I would stop supporting, your art is what makes being Bi so much better

2024-08-15 14:05:20 +0000 UTCThanks for the answer! Yes, it's always hard to choose on this subject, but I can't help but think that if I had a little more time the drawing concepts would be a little better than “person with simple background with floating tools tickling them”

2024-08-15 13:59:50 +0000 UTCQuality vs Quantity is always a question that’s hard to choose. All about what makes you more comfortable, in my opinion. Regardless, I’d say 99% or your audience and patrons won’t be upset with what you choose because we are always looking forward to you posting whether it’s in large quantities or not

2024-08-15 13:25:53 +0000 UTCLet's see, if that's the case, we must be cynical: There are people who enter for the quantity of content rather than for the quality (it's a fact, not on every example, ofc, but people seems to be more attracted to quantity nowdays). If it were up to me I would do more quality content, but since I have to be attentive to several factors of my followers/members sometimes you have to put certain things first even if they are not very beneficial in the long run. I really used the claim of variations to stand out a bit more, but I think that may not go well in the long run. From my perspective I prefer to lower the level of variations and focus better on concepts than on delivering quick and half-done works or directly done badly.

2024-08-15 12:42:39 +0000 UTCsince I think both options are fair the real question is "what do you think you should do"
