The limit is 100 friends for everyone, due to technical reasons. We may increase it in the future but it will need optimizations first.

I know during the Easter update you could still collect clovers, but I didn't pick up any because I was focusing on just collecting eggs because the "rare item warning" came up for the clovers when I was carrying a basket.
