Supporter servers ?

Since Friend lists are now being tested on the test server. I hope that means that we're closer to getting this. Afterall from looking at the votes, lots of people want this :) I'm so excited.

I think that's a great idea, Though I feel like $1 should be able to add maybe 2 instead of one. But it would be generous enough to even let $1 to make their own servers considering it's such a low amount of money, Also, are you still working on this?

Someone told me that in the game "Garry's mod" users can create their own servers, using as their main server their computer, not the game itself. Is such an implementation of this idea possible?

Most of my time is wasted on people breaking the rules, fixing peoples accounts and trying to keep game running, so the progress is very slow :(

Will this still be a thing? I know you guys (the staff) have been busy fixing the security and fixing bugs in the updates. But, no other word for when things will be released. Like the chat log for example. Or the "friends list system", is there any news on them?

If it's on safe server you can let us know if we missed some curse in our filter system. You can just use ignore or hide option to get rid of them.

But we might get people spamming to get into the supporter only servers? And fewer people might donate if they can just get in for free

About this, I had another idea maybe supporters $1+ could create their own server and be able to put it as 'Public' or 'Private' and if it is private they could send a link, but public would be open for anyone to join

Hiya, I don't think that it'll discourage people from becoming a patron themselves. We also don't know how the invite system would work yet. So it'll give the staff time, to think of how it will. I believe it'll work by a code that has: 1 use, 5 uses or 10 uses (depending on the tier) since the Friend system is probably still in the works. Baring in mind also, that this may come out in two months. Given how much the staff has got on their plate's already. Also, remember. There are: (currently) 934 patrons for PT. Which although it may not seem like a big number. There are currently 3 playable servers. Each having over 900+ players at their peaks. Maybe not much for the Russian server. If the users find out about this, this would encourage them to hop on the patron train and pledge. So that then they can invite their friends to the game.

A friend made me aware of his concerns regarding this, and I feel what he said might be worth mentioning. He said that he's afraid less people will choose to become patrons, since they can simply be invited to the server by their friends. I get that some ponies just support for the perks, but I fear there might be some who will abuse this to avoid paying money. It might cause a drop in patrons, and that cannot be good for the game. I personally feel that it's a great way to show non-supporters what's cooking under the hood, but he did have a fair point as well. This is a tough thing to consider.

I feel like this will encourage more people to get surporter rank 3 then invite friends, at the end of the month cancel thier donation. Maybe have safty nets like you only get these abilities after one donation?

In addition, I think instead of 10 players maybe 10+ so like 10-15 players could have an invite.

I absolutely love the idea. But then again, I'm kind of sceptical. Although it's pretty great. The supporter servers are that. Supporter servers, where the supporters of the game have pledge money to help support it. (Support{er} will be said a lot obviously) I'm not saying that this shouldn't be a thing, but it's a thing that is very complex to say. I'm not trying to be mean, but if people want to play the supporter server then they should pledge them selves. However, this is still a great idea. For those that wish to experience the new updates before anyone else does that do not have the supporter tiers.

Personally i'm pretty neutral about this idea. Sure it sounds good at first, but i don't want to just seperate myself from everyone else, so i'll definately stay on the normal servers. There's always the test server if one wants to chill with barely anyone around. :3

I kind of like the idea, but the concept of making a "cool kids club" where people pay to get access to a slightly smaller server is upsetting. I like the idea of privacy, but knowing that some people are going to make it their permanent hangout spot and could leave some other people in the dust is upsetting.

Honestly that would be nice. A personal server would be really great. Don't get me wrong, I love the game's community but others take what you do out of context, and immediately attempt to pick on you. And it's extremely obnoxious. The fact that you could get a little more privacy between you and your friends would be VERY helpful.

i'd really enjoy this! test servers would be fun but i understand wanting to keep that to supporter only! in any case, quieter servers i can invite my friends to, especially 18+ ones, would be real nice.

That wouldn't actually be like test server, it's supposed to be just additional regular servers. Although if that's what people would like to see then maybe that's what we'd do.

This is a very good idea! My friends that don't have supporter have always wanted to go to the test server, so i'm sure they'd be very happy if this was put into the game.

If you make a supporter server it shouldn't be just the same map otherwise there's really no point other than bragging rights of "hey I'm on a supporter server!"

I like the idea! It could be a temp thing to have friends be on private servers/areas (which maybe can be implimented in the future, like this could be a test run on how it works). I'm fine with having five friends but I feel maybe raise the 1 friend to 2?

But what I can suggest is adding some limits. 1. Non-supporters can only spend about 30 minutes at most. The limit is only reset at server’s midnight. 2. Maybe enforce a stay-in-party rule for non-supporters. You leave the party, you are immediately kicked out of the server.

Another thought: It will cause drama because someone is not going to be invited by their friend for whatever reason.

I like the idea. I love the idea of this, and it would give people more of an ambition to become a supporter!

If maximum was 10, it'd be a good idea to raise party size limit accordingly.

How long will the invites last and are they one time use only things? Like say I invite my friend on to the server and then they have a browser crash now the invites been used and they can't get back on

I think this would be a great idea! It would allow non-supporters to experience thid and will most likely create future supporters.

Well, my thoughts on this, this is a great idea and for maybe "my friends" for example want to test something out without need to have issues with their patreon account mostly people has. It's also good for them with thoughts and a new way to "improve so it looks better or so the player feel good with it". But without paying anything. you mostly aren't getting any income from this and would decrease with patreon supporters. Still great idea and would potentially would be great if the invite your friend to the servers.

It's not that it's "not very useful", but I would rather not see a segmentation of users based on who's paying and who isn't. I would rather see more servers accessible to everyone.
