Is David Lucas supposed to be a comedian? He was terrible. And before anyone says that “it takes longer than 60 seconds to come up with roasting material,” I say “nope. He’s just unfunny.” For good examples of people who are actually funny with brilliant improv skills, here’s just a few: 1. Norm Macdonald and Courtney Thorne-Smith on Conan O’Brian in 1998. 2. Bill Burr berating the female audience member during his “No Reason To Hit a Woman” from his special “You People Are All the Same.” 3. Barack Obama’s “No more campaigns to run” joke during his State of the Union Address from 2015.
