Callisto v0.80 - Week 1 Update

Preparatory work in underway for the next instalment of Callisto. I have been working on the outline for v0.80, along with the politics outline for the remainder of the game. It's actually necessary at this time, to list out all of the major events in the remainder of the game and the decisions available to the player. By knowing all of the events remaining, I can appropriately allocated them to the remaining episodes.

I have also been working on a couple of the sets to be used in the final episodes. I was originally planning on having significant content on a space station, however the asset I was planning to use is too sparse. It would have felt like having a meeting in a stadium. Instead of this setting, I have elected to hold these events on the planet surface.

Above is a test render of the central location, from which you will be able to access other rooms. The above location is actually a merge of several assets, with the grass, trees, leaves and benches added to the Gothic Courtyard asset. Sounds easy, however harder than you think.

The poll outcome related to the minor races to be included seems pretty clear at this stage, with a few days left to vote. Rather than the 4 minor races originally intended to be featured, I will cut this back to 3. The other races will still be present, however only to add background scenery. Hence 3 races will have minor speaking parts and the other 3 employed as extras. 

I mentioned last week that I was going to have a poll on outfits for a formal occasion. I actually started this exercise, however soon realised that I didn't have sufficient clothing assets to provide suitable variety. Having all the girls wearing the same dress in different colours isn't really a choice. As such I have recently procured several new assets and intend to purchase a couple more next week. The dress polls will likely be posted towards the end of next week. I use a portion of the Patreon funds to supporting asset creators such as those for the dresses, such that people like myself have more options for the creation of game images.

I will commence the detailed writing / scripting for scenes next week. Whilst the outline still needs to be tweaked following feedback from the development team, there are certain events that are already fixed. Plan remains to publish a schedule in the Week 3 update, once I have established the exact image / animation count.
