Callisto v0.60 Update - Week 3
Added 2021-01-29 04:27:14 +0000 UTCI have been doing some forward planning over the past week in terms of the overall development plan for Callisto. I was originally planning on extending content all the way out to v1.20. However when considering the development timetable, this has game creation going all the way out to mid next year.
As many of you are aware, this game is the first one I have created and as such, during the development process my skills have been improving. Some of the decisions made early in the game, present challenges to the creation of the newer content. With what I know now, I would have made a number of different decisions during early development.
So what does all this mean for Callisto? Firstly I can assure everyone that I am committed to completing the game. In order to reduce the total game development time, I have adjusted the main outline to conclude the story at v1.0. This should see the development conclude around the end of this year. The adjustments made, for the most part, keeps the main story line fully intact. The reduction in development time has been achieved by the removal of some planned side content that would have expanded the Callisto universe. One such item trimmed, was a planned documentary series, that would have been accessed via the Captain's TV, detailing the origins of the various Orion sector races.
Back to activities over the last week, I have fully implemented the strip club dance routines. I have also scripted / coded the bulk of the main story content for v0.60. Over the past couple of days I have been generating the stills for the main story, one of which is below.
With the change to the overall game outline, I have shifted a couple of items, originally intended for v0.70, back into v0.60. This has slightly increased the content for this version. Thankfully due to good progress this week, this has not had a significant impact of the currently forecast release dates.
As a final parting note, I have been paying attention to the polling results. The relationship system will stay as per currently designed, with an incredibly minor tweak to make slightly more options available, should a previously high relationship level, fall to a low level.

Still a long way off, however I have put into some thought into a follow up game next year. Potentially it will be set in the Orion sector of the Callisto universe. There is a heap of development work that has already be done, that won't make it into the current game. Same to throw away all that effort.

2021-01-29 05:43:27 +0000 UTCDo you intend to make a series out of it? Or at least a second game. I mean, in that way you could wrap this first one's story as needed and start over regarding yours, let's say, technical obstacles. Anyway, can't wait to see more of it (:
