Seven Sins System Chapter 542. Slice of Paradise

His voice came from somewhere to my left, full of that trademark mischief. "It’s a secret," he said, drawing out the last word in a sing-song tone. "But trust me, El, you’re gonna love it."

I cracked one eye open, raising an eyebrow at him. "Just a reminder, Asmo," I said, my tone calm but firm. "I can’t exactly f*ck demons who won’t pledge their loyalty to me. So, if this is one of your usual shenanigans, I might end up just watching you guys do… whatever it is you do."

Asmo chuckled nervously, scratching the back of his neck. "Oh, of course, of course! I remember that," he said quickly, waving a hand like it was no big deal. But the faint hesitation in his voice was impossible to miss.

I leaned back, smirking. ‘Caught you.’

Luci, who had been lounging nearby with a glass of wine in hand, gave Asmo a pointed look. "And how about me?" he asked, his tone dripping with mock annoyance. "What’s the plan for my entertainment tonight? You expect me to just sit here and watch this prince get pampered?"

Asmo’s face lit up, and I knew he had something planned. He clapped his hands twice, the sound sharp and commanding. Almost immediately, at least half a dozen succubi emerged from the crowd, each carrying trays laden with snacks, fine wine, and what I could only describe as the ultimate demon charcuterie board.

The succubi swarmed Luci, surrounding him like a perfectly choreographed dance. One poured him a fresh glass of wine, another held a plate of delicacies out to him, and a third gently draped a silk blanket over his lap as if he were the king of the realm himself.

"They’ll provide all the emotional support you could ever need," Asmo said with a grin. "And, of course, feed your ego while they’re at it."

Luci stared at him, his expression flat. For a moment, I thought he might actually refuse.

"Really, Asmo?" he said, his voice dry. "This is your idea of entertainment for me?"

Asmo shrugged, unbothered. "What? You love being the center of attention."

Luci opened his mouth to retort, but one of the succubi leaned in, whispering something in his ear that made him pause. Slowly, almost reluctantly, he took a sip of his wine and settled back into his chair.

"Fine," he muttered, glaring at Asmo. "But only because they’re actually good at their job."

Asmo beamed, clapping his hands together. "I knew you’d come around!"

I couldn’t help it—I burst out laughing, the sound echoing through the room. Luci shot me a withering glare, but that only made it harder to stop.

"Don’t you start," he said, pointing a finger at me.

I raised my hands in mock surrender, grinning. "Hey, I’m just impressed. Asmo really knows how to handle you."

"Whatever," Luci grumbled, but he didn’t push the succubi away. In fact, one of them was already feeding him a piece of some fancy, golden-crusted dessert, and he didn’t look particularly upset about it.

Asmo turned back to me, his grin never faltering. "And you, El~ How are you enjoying your little slice of paradise?"

I sighed, leaning back in the massage chair as the succubi continued their work. "Honestly? It’s not bad. You outdid yourself this time."

"Of course I did," Asmo said, tossing his hair dramatically. "Now, stop worrying about the main event and just relax. You’ve got the best seat in the house, and trust me, tonight’s going to be unforgettable. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have to go make sure everything’s perfect for the main event."

I didn’t doubt it. With Asmo in charge, "unforgettable" could mean just about anything—from an extravagant feast to a literal explosion of chaos. For now, though, I was content to let the evening unfold at its own pace.

Luci, despite his earlier protests, was clearly settling into his own version of relaxation, the succubi surrounding him in a halo of adoration. Beel was still at the buffet, stacking his plate higher than seemed physically possible, and Levi’s muttered curses from the gaming corner suggested he was locked in an epic game battle with some poor demon who’d dared to challenge him.

As for me, well… I wasn’t complaining. For once, everything was going smoothly.

At least, for now.

The peace couldn’t last forever, not at a party hosted by Asmo. While I was enjoying the massage chair, a glass of wine in one hand and the expert touch of the succubi easing the tension from my shoulders, the inevitable happened.

Demons started lingering.

At first, it was subtle. A few side glances, whispers exchanged behind clawed hands, and the occasional not-so-discreet pointing. Then they got bolder.

A lower-class succubus with bright green eyes and a nervous smile approached me, her steps hesitant but determined. "Excuse me, Your Highness," she began, her voice trembling slightly, "but I just wanted to say… you’re even more stunning in person."

I didn’t even open my eyes. Instead, I extended a hand lazily, conjuring a faint shimmer of energy around me. The barrier flared to life—subtle, but enough to make my point. It was essentially the demon equivalent of hanging a "Do Not Disturb" sign around my neck.

The succubus stopped in her tracks, her expression falling slightly before she bowed and backed away. I could feel her lingering presence, though, and the gazes of others who had taken an interest.

"Are they still staring?" Luci’s voice drawled from his seat, where he was comfortably surrounded by his entourage of snack-wielding succubi.

I cracked one eye open to glance at him. His barrier was up, too, shimmering faintly like a dome of liquid light. One of his succubi tried to hand-feed him a grape, but Luci ignored her, his focus instead on the crowd of gawking demons.

"Of course, they’re staring," I said, closing my eye again. "When’s the last time most of these demons saw either of us outside a formal event?"

Luci snorted, swirling his wine. "Fair point. But seriously, don’t they have better things to do? Like, I don’t know… literally anything else?"

"Apparently not," I said with a sigh.
