Seven Sins System Chapter 540. It’s a Mortal Thing

"Yep," Asmo confirmed, his voice lilting with delight. "Top-notch stuff. So, what do you say?"

Levi still hunched over his phone, yet his eyes flickered with a mix of skepticism and intrigue. "Fine," he muttered, trying to sound indifferent, but the faint excitement in his tone gave him away. "I’ll come. But only because of the games."

Asmo’s grin widened as he turned his attention to me, his red eyes practically glowing. "And what about you, Your Highness?" he drawled, emphasizing the title with just the right amount of sarcasm to make my horns itch.

I raised an eyebrow, letting the corner of my mouth tug into a faint smirk. "I gave you a present, didn’t I? Of course, I’ll come."

"Ah, yes!" Asmo’s eyes lit up with a playful glint, his tone turning sing-song. "You remind me of my favorite gift. That angel is just so cute. I play with it every night."

The room fell silent. Luci and Levi’s heads snapped toward me like puppets on strings, their expressions caught somewhere between disbelief and curiosity.

"What did you give him?" Luci asked, his voice laced with suspicion.

Levi leaned forward, his phone forgotten. "Wait… an angel? You gave him an angel?" His tone rose with incredulity. "So, what, you managed to break through the light realm and even kidnap one of their angels? Damn, I guess the shadow realm’s future is safe in your hands."

Luci’s grin turned sharp, his eyes glinting with wicked amusement. "Maybe we can wreck the light realm next. You know, really shake things up. I can’t wait."

I sighed, pinching the bridge of my nose. "Calm down, you two. It’s just a knick-knack."

Luci tilted his head, his grin faltering.

Levi frowned, his brow furrowed.

I continued, "It’s a snow globe. With an angel statue inside."

"A… snow globe?" they both said in unison, their voices dripping with disappointment.

I nodded, feeling the urge to roll my eyes. "It’s a mortal thing. Just a display. Not a real angel."

"Ugh." Luci groaned, leaning back with exaggerated disdain. "That’s so boring."

Levi muttered under his breath, clearly unimpressed. "Yeah, that’s lame. I thought you actually, you know, did something legendary."

"Must I remind you," I said, my tone sharpening, "that the light and dark agreement is still in place? Do you really think I’d kidnap an angel, give it to Asmo, and expect the goddesses to just… let it slide?"

Beel, who had been happily gnawing on his food, chimed in without looking up. "Well… who knows?"

I shot him a flat look, but he was already back to his food, clearly unbothered by the conversation.

Asmo clapped his hands, cutting through the tension with his usual dramatic flair. "Okay, enough about that. Just come to my party. And don’t forget to bring my laptop!"

Luci’s eyes narrowed, his lips curling into a smirk. "Where’s your servant? Shouldn’t they be bringing it to you?"

Asmo huffed, crossing his arms. "The king is still here, duh. They wouldn’t dare. Not with him watching."

I glanced toward the throne, curious. My father was deep in conversation with his assistant. His expression was unusually focused, and for a moment, I wondered what could possibly be important enough to hold his attention like that.

"Right," I said, tearing my gaze away. "I guess we’re heading to Asmo’s now."

"Yay!" Asmo practically squealed, clapping his hands together.

Luci rolled his eyes, his telekinesis snapping the laptop shut with a sharp click. The device floated toward him like an obedient pet, and he grabbed it with a flourish. "Quit wasting my time. Let’s go."

Beel, of course, wasn’t about to leave his feast behind. With a snap of his fingers, every piece of food on the table—plates, bowls, and all—rose into the air and began floating lazily around him. "No way I’m leaving this behind," he muttered, his voice muffled by the chunk of meat in his mouth.

I sighed, extending my hand. A portal shimmered into existence before us, its edges rippling with dark energy. "Let’s get this over with."

We stepped through the portal, the oppressive heat of the grand court giving way to the vibrant chaos of Asmo’s domain.

Asmo’s mansion was, unsurprisingly, a sensory overload. The air was thick with the mingling scents of expensive perfumes and spiced wine, and the sound of lively music reverberated through the grand halls. Everywhere I looked, demons were laughing, dancing, or lounging on plush expensive furniture.

"Asmo sure knows how to throw a party," Beel said, his eyes already scanning the room for the buffet table.

Levi, meanwhile, was practically vibrating with excitement as he spotted a row of gaming consoles set up along one wall. "No way," he breathed, his eyes wide. "Are those… limited-edition models from the mortal realm?"

Asmo appeared at my side, his grin as dazzling as ever. "Only the best for my guests," he said, his tone dripping with pride. "Go on, Levi. Enjoy yourself."

Levi didn’t need to be told twice. He was already halfway across the room, his phone forgotten as he dove into the gaming setup.

Luci, on the other hand, looked around with a mix of boredom and disdain. "Typical Asmo," he muttered, swirling a glass of wine that he’d somehow acquired within seconds of our arrival. "All style, no substance."

"Oh, lighten up, Luci," Asmo said, waving a hand dismissively. "You’re here to have fun, remember?"

"Fun," Luci repeated, his tone flat.

Beel had already found the buffet and was piling his plate high with an alarming variety of dishes. "This is fun," he said around a mouthful of food.

I couldn’t help but smirk at the sight. Beel was nothing if not consistent.

Asmo turned his attention back to me, his eyes gleaming with mischief. "And you, Your Highness? Planning to sulk in a corner, or are you actually going to enjoy yourself for once?"

"I’m here, aren’t I?" I said, crossing my arms.

"True," Asmo admitted, his grin widening. "But just being here isn’t enough. You need to relax. Loosen up a little."

"I’ll relax when you stop being so annoying," I shot back.

Asmo laughed, the sound as light and carefree as ever. "Fair enough. But seriously, try to have a good time. You deserve it."
