Seven Sins System Chapter 535. The Grand Court of The Sins II

Seven Sins System Chapter 535. The Grand Court of The Sins II

Belial stepped forward, his smirk returning as if he had suddenly regained his confidence. "Your Majesty," he began smoothly, spreading his arms wide, "I simply offered Lady Gremory what Lord Berith could not—competence, charm, and a refreshing lack of… let’s call it, unnecessary aggression."

The courtroom erupted into murmurs, some demons chuckling under their breath while others exchanged shocked glances.

I felt my blood boil. I itched to summon my wrath tentacles and wipe that grin off his face.

"Careful, El," Luci whispered, his tone light but with a hint of warning. "You’re looking a little too eager to cause a scene."

"Shut up," I muttered for the third time, though this time my voice lacked its usual bite.

My father’s voice boomed again, silencing the murmurs. "Belial, this is a court of law, not a stage for your theatrics. Stick to the facts."

"Of course, Your Majesty," Belial said, bowing slightly. "The fact is, Lady Gremory came to me willingly. If there is any fault here, it lies with Lord Berith for failing to secure her loyalty."

Berith’s fists slammed into the dais, cracks spiderwebbing across the molten glass. "You manipulative bastard! You think you can undermine me and get away with it?!"

"Berith!" my father barked, his aura flaring. "Control yourself!"

Berith took a step back, his chest heaving as he tried to rein in his rage.

Gremory, for her part, seemed thoroughly unimpressed. "If the two of you are done squabbling like children," she said, her voice dripping with condescension, "perhaps we can address the real issue. This isn’t about loyalty or territory. It’s about power. And neither of you has enough of it to satisfy me."

The room fell into stunned silence. Even I had to admit, that was a hell of a line.

Luci let out a low whistle. "She’s good," he murmured.

I shook my head, my patience officially gone. "This is a waste of time," I muttered under my breath.

Unfortunately, my father heard me. His eyes snapped to mine, and I felt the weight of his authority pressing down on me.

"Do you have something to add, Azrael?" he asked, his tone deceptively calm.

I straightened in my chair, feeling every eye in the room turn to me. "Yes," I said, my voice steady. "This court was called because the balance of power is at risk. But all I’ve heard so far is petty infighting. If we’re going to resolve this, we need to focus on the bigger picture. What does each party stand to gain or lose from this… arrangement?"

The room buzzed with murmurs again, and my father nodded, a hint of approval in his gaze. "A valid point," he said. "Lord Belial, Lady Gremory, Lord Berith—what say you to this?"

The three of them began to argue their cases, their voices overlapping as they tried to outmaneuver each other.

I leaned back in my chair, shaking my head. Berith was growling about betrayal and honor, Gremory was calmly cutting him down with every other word, and Belial was fanning the flames with that smug smirk plastered on his face.

I huffed, crossing my arms. "Right… more chaos. Like always," I muttered, more to myself than anyone else.

Luci let out a quiet chuckle. "You expected anything less? This is what we do. Chaos is kind of our thing."

"Doesn’t mean I have to like it," I shot back, rubbing my temples.

A loud crunch broke through the tension in our corner. I turned to see Beel casually munching on what looked like a whole roasted hellpig, bones and all. He glanced over at me and Luci, his hand holding out a plate piled high with snacks—A.K.A the charred remains of hell-beasts and molten lava cakes.

"You two should eat," Beel said through a mouthful of food, his voice slow and casual. "This is gonna be a long drama. And hangry isn’t good for anyone."

Luci and I exchanged glances, silently debating the pros and cons of indulging in Beel’s offerings. On the one hand, it was Beel’s food—always good, even if his choices were… unique. On the other hand, we’d be admitting that we were settling in for this circus of a court session.

I sighed, finally giving in. "Fine. Hand it over," I said, taking a plate.

Luci followed suit, albeit with a little more grace. "I suppose it wouldn’t hurt," he said, plucking a piece of what looked like caramelized demon liver from the pile.

Beel grinned, pleased with himself. "Good choice. Food makes everything better."

I bit into something that tasted suspiciously like infernal barbecue and couldn’t help but feel a tiny sliver of comfort. If we were going to be stuck here watching Berith, Gremory, and Belial tear into each other, I might as well enjoy it for what it was—a damn good show.

The arguing in the center of the court reached a fever pitch. Berith’s deep growl was almost unintelligible, Gremory’s sultry yet cutting remarks were sharp enough to wound, and Belial was laughing like he’d already won.

"This is ridiculous," I muttered, glancing over at Luci, who was now calmly sipping what looked like a glass of bloodwine.

"Ridiculous is what we do," he replied with a smirk. "Might as well embrace it."

I snorted, shaking my head. "You’re enjoying this way too much."

"Of course I am," he said, leaning back in his chair like he didn’t have a care in the world. "Watching other people’s drama is one of life’s great pleasures."

My father, seated on his towering throne, finally raised a hand, and the room fell silent once again. His voice, steady and authoritative, cut through the tension like a blade. "Enough."

The three bickering demons froze, turning their attention back to the king.

"This court is not a playground for your petty disputes," my father said, his eyes sweeping over them. "Berith, Gremory, and Belial, you have all acted in ways that undermine the stability of the realms. This is not just about your personal grievances—it is about the balance of power in hell."

"Balance?" Berith growled, his fists clenching again. "Your Majesty, Belial has been encroaching on my territory. This is a direct challenge to my authority!"
