I nodded, trying to imagine what that might feel like. No hunger, no need to sit down and enjoy the taste of food or the comfort of a warm meal. It sounded both serene and oddly cold. "So, you never ate anything? Not even when you were curious?"
Puriel smiled slightly, though it was tinged with something like melancholy. "There’s nothing to be curious about in that world. The light sustains us completely. There’s no craving, no hunger to satisfy. It’s a different kind of existence. We ate light essence though. In case, we are sick."
"But you’re here now," I pointed out. "In the human world. Do you think you’ll start needing food now that you’re not in the celestial realms?"
She frowned slightly, clearly unsure. "I don’t know. I’ve never been outside the light’s influence for this long. I feel different—like I’m more… grounded." She hesitated, glancing down at her hands as if searching for some unseen change. "Maybe I will need to eat now. It feels like my body is adjusting to this world in ways I didn’t expect."
I raised my hands. "Okay, so the real question is, how do you feel after eating all that?" I asked, nodding toward the empty glass and the remains of the yogurt. "Do you feel better? Like, does your mana feel replenished or something?"
Puriel paused, her expression thoughtful as if she were doing some internal inventory check. "I’m not sure," she admitted, her voice hesitant. "Or maybe… I don’t know. It’s hard to tell."
I let out a small sigh, rubbing the back of my neck. "Yep, I shouldn’t have asked that," I muttered under my breath, feeling a bit frustrated with myself. This whole situation was so out of my usual experience—dealing with an angel who was learning to live in the human world was something I never thought I’d have to navigate.
Still, I needed to know where she stood, at least in terms of her physical and magical state. So, with a quick flick of thought, I activated my Observation skill.
"Observation," I whispered.
[Observation skill succeeded.]

I cringed internally, the information hitting me harder than I expected. She was below me. Based on her status, she should have been on par with the demonesses and demon lords. But it wasn’t her level that bothered me—it was her skills.
‘Why the hell does she have such terrifying abilities?’ I thought, my stomach sinking slightly. Lord Damon had once told me that Puriel was considered the weakest among the high angels, almost insignificant in their hierarchy. But looking at her now, her skill set was nothing short of terrifying.
Divine Light at level 5, Heal and Blessing maxed out, Sanctuary Shield at level 10… Heavenly Aegis? That was an ultimate skill. And Judgment Blade?
I gulped, knowing full well that could obliterate even high-level demons.
She might not have looked like a powerhouse at first glance, but based on her skills and the aura I had sensed from her earlier, she was anything but weak.
My mind raced as I recalled what Lord Damon had said. His words must have biased my judgment, making me underestimate her. But now, faced with her potential, I was beginning to realize just how wrong I had been.
‘This woman could easily be my equal.’
Puriel noticed my silence and tilted her head slightly, her soft expression tinged with confusion. "What is it?" she asked quietly, her voice snapping me out of my thoughts.
"Nothing," I lied quickly, shaking my head as I tried to compose myself. "Just… thinking."
She raised an eyebrow, clearly not buying it, but thankfully didn’t press further. Instead, she glanced down at her hands again, as if she could feel the change in herself.
"You know," she said softly, "I never thought I’d have to adjust to something like this. Being so… weak." There was a fragility in her voice that caught me off guard. "In the celestial realm, I was always protected. Always surrounded by the light. But now, I feel like… I don’t know. Like I’m exposed."
I nodded, still trying to wrap my head around her power and what it meant to have her here. "It makes sense," I said, my voice softer now, more understanding. "You’re in a world that works on entirely different rules. Everything you were used to is… gone."
Puriel sighed, and she looked truly lost. "I don’t know how long I can last like this," she admitted, her voice barely above a whisper. "Even though I’m getting used to food and this world, I can feel the strain on my powers. The light doesn’t reach me here like it did before. And without it, I..." She trailed off, her eyes distant, as if she were remembering a time when everything had been simpler, brighter.
I leaned forward, my voice softer. "Do you want to go home?" The question was heavy and complicated. It wasn’t as simple as asking if she wanted to return to a place—it was asking if she wanted to return to a life she could never truly have again.
Puriel nodded, but the smile that touched her lips was bitter. "I do," she said quietly. "But I can’t... The Light Dimension has locked itself away. All the connections between the three worlds—ours, the human realm, and the demon realm—have been severed. I’ll never be able to go back." Her voice trembled at the edges.
I took a deep breath. "Do you miss your family?" I asked, my tone gentler now. I wasn’t sure what it meant to an angel to lose their home, their connection to the divine, but I imagined it was a lot like losing part of oneself. A part that could never be reclaimed.

I am surprised her love meter is still a perfect 0.
