The Incubus System Chapter 1012. I Can Give You More Than Just Protection

Zalira’s expression hardened, her eyes narrowing further as she processed what I was saying. She knew I was right, even if she didn’t want to admit it. The threat was real, and it was far greater than anything her kingdom had faced before.

“You need my protection to survive,” I continued, pressing my point home. “Your kingdom needs my protection to survive. Without me, you’ll be left vulnerable, exposed. And those demon lords won’t show any mercy.”

She clenched her jaw, frustration and fear mingling in her eyes. “You’re asking me to trust a demon,” she said, her voice low but filled with a mixture of defiance and uncertainty. “To trust that you’ll keep your word, that you won’t turn on us the moment you get what you want.”

“Yes,” I stated firmly, holding her gaze with unwavering confidence. “You don’t have anyone else to turn to,” I continued, each word deliberate, meant to strike at the core of her reality. “Or… you could turn to that angel inside the crystal and request her help. But that will essentially be the same as my request—a win-win solution for both of us,” I added.

Zalira’s expression tightened, her jaw clenched even more, the lines around her mouth deepening as she considered the impossible choice before her. “But—” I added, my voice lowering to a more serious tone, “after what you’ve done to her all those years, do you really think she’ll fulfill your wish just like that?”

Her face flickered with a moment of doubt, a shadow passing over her eyes. She knew I was right. The angel inside the crystal had been used as a tool, a source of power, stripped of her dignity and autonomy. Asking for her help now, after everything that had been done to her, would not be an easy task. It would require more than just words; it would require atonement, perhaps even a promise of something more.

“I never wanted this,” Zalira whispered, her voice softer now, almost defeated. “When I inherited the throne, the crystal was already here. The power it provided… it was necessary to keep my kingdom safe.”

I nodded. “I know,” I said gently, my tone softening. “You did what you thought was best for your people. But now you have a choice. You can continue down this path, relying on a stolen power, or you can make a different choice. A choice that could lead to something better, something sustainable.”

Zalira’s eyes flickered with something—conflict, maybe, or a hint of hope. Her lips tightened, and I could see her wrestling with the enormity of what I was asking her to do. It wasn’t easy, I knew that. She was a queen. Every decision she made could mean life or death, prosperity or ruin.

Her silence stretched between us. My hand lifted slowly to her face. I could feel her flinch slightly at the contact, but she didn’t pull away. My fingers brushed against her skin, caressing the side of her face with a tenderness that seemed almost out of place.

“That’s why I’m giving you this chance,” I continued softly, my voice a low, soothing murmur. “That’s why I’m offering you this contract.”

Her eyes met mine, still filled with doubt, still wary. “Be my woman, Zalira,” I said, repeating my offer once again. “Stand by my side. Not as enemies, not as mere allies, but as partners. As equals.”

She hesitated, her breath hitching in her throat. I could see the wheels turning in her mind, the calculations, the fear, the hope. She was considering it—truly considering it—and that was more than I could have hoped for. I pressed my advantage, leaning in closer, my voice dropping to a near whisper.

“I can give you more than just protection,” I said, my breath warm against her ear. “I can give you power, influence, a way to ensure your kingdom not only survives but thrives. You won’t have to stand alone against what’s coming. You’ll have me. All of me.”

Zalira’s eyes searched mine, still filled with a mixture of doubt and curiosity. I could see the battle within her—pride against pragmatism, fear against the tantalizing allure of power and protection. She was a queen who had never easily relinquished control, but she was also wise enough to know when to bend, when to consider a different path. And right now, I could see her resolve starting to waver.

At last, she sighed softly. Her shoulders relaxed, the tension in her posture easing just slightly. “Fine,” she said quietly, almost grudgingly. “I agree to your terms. I’ll accept this… partnership.”

A slow, satisfied smile spread across my face. “Good,” I said, my voice a low, velvety purr. “I promise, Zalira, you won’t regret this decision.”

She raised an eyebrow, her expression skeptical but curious. “And what exactly does this contract entail?” she asked, her tone cautious. “You speak of it as if it’s more than just words.”

I nodded, leaning in a bit closer, my voice dropping to a conspiratorial whisper. “Oh, it’s much more than words,” I said, letting a hint of mischief dance in my eyes. “But don’t worry about the details. It will be the simplest contract you’ve ever seen. All you have to do is let me handle it.”

Zalira’s gaze sharpened, her eyes narrowing slightly as she tried to gauge my intentions. “And what does that mean?” she asked, a hint of suspicion in her voice.

“It means,” I replied with a playful smirk, “that you just need to sit back and enjoy. I’ll take care of everything else. Trust me, Zalira. This is my specialty.” I could see her hesitation, the flicker of doubt in her eyes, but I pressed on. “I’ll put my title as the Lord of Lust on the line for this… I will satisfy you, Zalira,” I whispered, my voice low and seductive.

"You mean... sex is the contract?" Zalira asked in surprise, her eyes widened. Her body tensed beneath mine, a flicker of uncertainty crossing her face, as if she wasn’t sure whether to be insulted or intrigued. I could see her mind racing, trying to make sense of the offer.
