Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays, everyone!
In honor of the holiday and the festivities sure to come with it, I thought I would share this Christmas cocktail that has been made by my family for generations. It's a peppermint toddy with lemon, lemon zest, raw honey, and bourbon whiskey.
My grandma and great-grandma would make these for me and my cousins as kids when we were sick. One mug of this and we'd be good as new! I mostly drink them for pleasure now, but there is no denying what the honey, lemon, and bourbon can do for a sore throat!
How to prepare:
Melt three to four peppermint candy sticks in two cups of warm water. Add two ounces of lemon juice and honey to taste. Pour your desired amount into your favorite holiday mug and add bourbon to your liking! Garnish with lemon zest and enjoy~
