Seven Sins System Chapter 414. Living Puppet I

The dark aura swirled around his head, thick tendrils of shadow wrapping tighter and tighter. The kraken let out a muffled scream, the sound choked and desperate as the aura forced its way into his mind. Every fragment of his past, every memory he clung to, was being torn away. It was like watching a tapestry unravel, thread by thread, until there was nothing left but empty darkness.

His body, once taut with resistance, began to tremble. The violent thrashing that had filled the room with chaotic energy slowed, his limbs growing weaker and more limp with each passing second. The aura seemed to feed on his terror, growing denser and more oppressive, pressing down on him like an insurmountable weight.

Through the shadowy haze, I could see his eyes—wide with fear at first, then slowly glazing over as the process took hold. His screams turned to faint, pitiful whimpers before fading into silence. The kraken’s body went completely slack, hanging limply in the grip of my tentacles. The aura pulsed one last time before dissipating, leaving behind a husk of what he once was.

His memories were gone, but his intelligence remained. His eyes, now dull and vacant, flickered briefly as if searching for some lost piece of himself. But there was nothing left for him to find. The aura had done its work thoroughly, erasing every trace of his former self while leaving his cognitive abilities intact.

Ivy returned to the office, her footsteps echoing softly against the stone floor. In her hands, she carried a small puppet, no larger than a child's toy, its body limp and unassuming. She approached with a determined expression, her eyes briefly meeting mine before she threw the puppet onto the ground with a sharp flick of her wrist.

The moment the puppet hit the floor, it began to change. Dark magic crackled around it, tendrils of shadow swirling and expanding. The small form stretched and grew, limbs elongating and thickening. The puppet's body, initially no more than a foot tall, expanded rapidly until it was a towering figure lying on its back, taking up a significant portion of the room.

Its face was a smooth, featureless expanse, devoid of any eyes, mouth, or nose.

"Ah, this is perfect," I said, examining the puppet's faceless features. It was a blank canvas, waiting to be filled with purpose. I moved my tentacle, which still contained the kraken who had lost his memories, closer to the puppet lying on the ground.

"Let’s get this started," I murmured, a smirk playing on my lips.

I extended another tentacle, swirling with dark energy, and touched the puppet. "Devil Craft… Life Puppet…" I muttered, my voice resonating with power.

Dark magic crackled and sparked, flowing from my tentacle into the puppet. The Kraken’s body convulsed slightly, his eyes wide with confusion and fear. The puppet began to twitch and shudder as the dark magic infused it with life. The faceless head turned, almost as if it were waking up from a long slumber.

A dark aura enveloped both the kraken and the puppet simultaneously, the sinister energy pulsating with a life of its own. The kraken emitted a muffled scream, his eyes wide with terror as the dark magic took hold. The skill I wielded began to change his very body composition, reshaping and reforming him without mercy, without anesthesia. His flesh quivered and contorted, melding with the puppet’s wooden frame in a grotesque symphony of transformation.

The air around us crackled with dark energy, the atmosphere heavy with the weight of the unholy magic. The Kraken's screams grew louder, though still muffled, as his body twisted and writhed. His limbs elongated, blending seamlessly with the puppet's wooden structure. His skin became a patchwork of flesh and wood, creating a horrifying fusion that was neither fully mortal nor entirely puppet.

The Kraken’s once expressive eyes began to dull, losing their humanity. His face, once marked by fear and desperation, slowly smoothed out, becoming as faceless as the puppet he was merging with. The transformation was agonizing, his body convulsing violently as the magic reshaped him from the inside out.

After what felt like an eternity, the dark aura began to fade, its malevolent energy dissipating into the air. The puppet now stood upright, its form a grotesque blend of wood and Kraken flesh. It retained its original puppet features, but the flesh of the Kraken added a layer of grotesque realism.

The puppet's face remained faceless, devoid of any identity or expression. It was a blank slate. Though his soul still remembered who he was, that knowledge would only haunt him after he truly died. In that eventuality, his soul would be subjected to unimaginable torment, a fate far worse than the physical transformation he had just endured.

[Congratulations! You just created a Living Puppet!]

I looked upon my creation with a mixture of satisfaction and dark amusement. "Welcome to your new reality," I whispered, my voice dripping with malevolence.  "A new puppet with intelligence that can work for me 24/7," I announced proudly to Ivy, feeling a sense of accomplishment wash over me.

Ivy observed the grotesque creation with a grimace. The puppet looked more hideous than before, its wooden frame now interspersed with patches of Kraken flesh hanging here and there. It was a monstrous fusion, a nightmare brought to life.

“How does he eat?” she asked, her eyes not leaving the horrifying figure.

“Just give him a Mana potion and Health potion once a day. Or maybe two if his workload is too much," I replied, waving my hand dismissively. "Well, if you forget one day he won't die though. Just don't forget to feed him once in a while," I added in a nonchalant tone. Dying from hunger wasn’t my concern; it was just another layer of torment. "Also don't forget to double-check his work," I reminded Ivy, my tone taking on a hint of seriousness.

"Okay," she said, still eyeing the puppet warily.

I turned to the puppet, its faceless visage staring blankly ahead. "Now work. You were a company's CEO, right? This should be easy for you,” I ordered, my voice dripping with authority.
