But before I could revel in my victory, Foxy piped up from behind Celia, her voice hesitant. "Master—" she began, only to have Celia quickly cover her mouth with a hand, shooting me a warning glare. I raised an eyebrow at her, my smirk widening into a grin.
Celia straightened up, her posture radiating authority. "I'll let it slide this time," she declared, her tone firm. "But don't do it again," she added, her words leaving no room for argument. It was like she was the boss of this place or something.
With a sigh, Celia grabbed Foxy by the arm, pulling her along as she made her way towards the stairs. I watched them go, a smirk playing at the corners of my lips. "You know, if you're horny, you just have to tell me," I called out after them, my voice dripping with a teasing tone.
I watched Celia and Foxy freeze in their tracks at my teasing remark, a mischievous grin tugged at the corners of my lips. "I mean, I've still got some time before I need to get ready for Camila's place," I said.
Celia shot me a glare that could have frozen lava. "No. I said I’m not horny," she retorted, her voice tinged with fake confidence. But there was no denying the telltale blush creeping up her cheeks, giving her away like a neon sign in a dark alley.
I couldn't help but chuckle at her feeble attempt to save face. She was practically glowing with embarrassment. But before I could say anything else, Celia spun on her heel and marched off, dragging poor Foxy along with her like a reluctant puppy on a leash.
I let out a long exhale, shaking my head in amusement. "Sometimes I swear I'll never understand her," I muttered to myself, a small smile playing on my lips. But then again, maybe that was just part of being siblings. There were some things that never changed, no matter how much time passed or how much our relationship evolved.
Indeed, things between us had gotten... complicated lately. I mean, who would've thought that my little sister would end up being my... Well, more than just a sister? But even with all the twists and turns, there was still that underlying bond that tied us together.
With a shrug, I turned away from the scene unfolding behind me and made my way towards the bathroom. It was time to get myself together before heading out to meet Camila and Olivia.
I stepped into the bathroom, closing the door behind me with a soft click. The familiar scent of soap and shampoo greeted me as I glanced around the room. I wasted no time in stripping off my clothes and stepping into the shower. The water cascaded over my skin, washing away the remnants of sleep and leaving me feeling refreshed. I made sure to keep my movements quick, not wanting to waste any more time than necessary. After all, who knew when the Colossal Eye might decide to make an appearance?
Once I was satisfied that I was clean enough, I turned off the water and stepped out of the shower, grabbing a towel to dry myself off. With a snap of my fingers, I called upon my Demon's Clothes skill once again, willing a shirt and jeans to materialize around my body. The fabric hugged my skin comfortably, and I couldn't help but feel a sense of satisfaction at how effortlessly I had managed to get dressed.
I ran a hand through my hair, trying to tame the unruly strands into some semblance of order. With a final glance in the mirror to make sure I hadn't missed anything.
Quickly, I strode out of the bathroom and made my way to the end of the stairs. It was time to let Celia know that I was heading out. "Celia, I'm off to Camila's place," I called out, my voice echoing through the house.
"Okay!" Celia's response came loud and clear, her voice carrying from somewhere downstairs.
I turned around, ready to use my skill portal, and headed off to Camila's, but I was met with an unexpected sight. Ruby stood before me, her naked form wrapped in my blanket, her expression a mixture of urgency and a bit of panic. Her hands clutched tightly to the fabric as if she had hastily thrown it around herself moments before.
I froze in place, my mind scrambling to process what I was seeing. "Ruby, you're awake," I blurted out. It was probably my loud announcement that had woken her up in the first place.
"Yes, I'm awake," she responded, her voice a mix of grogginess and resignation.
I shifted uncomfortably, feeling the weight of the situation pressing down on me. "I need to go now," I said, trying to muster up an awkward smile.
Ruby's expression darkened slightly, and she pouted in response. "Sure," she muttered, the annoyance evident in her tone.
I could feel a twinge of guilt at the way she looked at me. "Are you mad at me because I'm leaving?" I asked tentatively, my voice tinged with uncertainty.
She shook her head, her demeanor softening as she spoke. "No. I promised you," she said calmly, her words carrying a sense of resignation.
She approached me. Her arms opened in a silent invitation for a hug. I hesitated for a moment before stepping into her embrace. The blanket she had wrapped around herself slipped to the floor, leaving her standing before me in all her naked vulnerability.
"Just promise me we'll do this more often," she murmured, her voice soft and pleading. "I want to connect with you more, Ethan."
"I promise," I said, returning her smile.
She took a step back, her arm falling away from me as she smiled warmly. "Take care, okay?" she said, her voice soft and genuine.
I nodded, feeling a lump form in my throat. Opening my portal, I glanced back at her one last time. Her expression was calm, almost serene, a stark contrast to the whirlwind of emotions inside me. 'Well, this is definitely a character development,' I thought to myself, impressed by how much our relationship had evolved in such a short time.
