"You have come," a male voice echoed through the room, dripping with an air of authority. Accompanying the voice was the sound of heavy breathing, punctuated by occasional sighs.
The familiar panting breath tickled my ears, and I couldn't help but grimace at the realization of what the so-called great leader was up to behind the thick curtain. It was a scene I'd rather not envision, but unfortunately, my mind painted a vivid picture nonetheless.
The groans ceased and a sigh of relief followed, I couldn't suppress a feeling of annoyance bubbling up within me. ‘I thought mortals were supposed to be more civilized than demons. What hypocrisy,’ I mused to myself, rolling my eyes internally at the absurdity of it all.
Just then, a strange mechanical noise interrupted the tense atmosphere, its abruptness catching us off guard. It was like the sound of a motor whirring to life.
- Wrrr….
The curtain was drawn back, anticipation hung heavy in the air, but instead of revealing the great leader’s identity and face, another layer of secrecy unfolded before us. Another curtain, thinner than the first but still obscuring the figure behind it, prevented us from gaining a clear view. Yet, the shadow cast by the figure loomed large against the fabric, offering a glimpse of the enigmatic presence within. I also realized the woman lying beside the figure on the bed.
From the silhouette, I could discern the outline of a sturdy frame, reminiscent of the depiction in Red's paintings. The figure seemed to embody the same imposing image that had been attributed to me in the past. It was a strange sensation, seeing my former self mirrored in another, especially considering the mask that had always concealed my true face from the mortals.
There was something unsettling about the way the figure stood before us, his form and the tentacles extending from his body hinting at a power and authority. Despite the thin veil of the curtain, the figure's presence loomed large, casting a shadow that seemed to stretch across the room, enveloping us in an aura of uncertainty and foreboding in the room.
Without hesitation, the thugs and all present immediately dropped to their knees, a sign of reverence and submission. Their gestures conveyed utmost respect for the imposing figure before them, acknowledging his authority with deference.
"All hail the great lord of wrath!!!" the thugs shouted in unison, their voices echoing in the room.
'Yeah, all hail to me,' I thought. I couldn't help but smirk internally at their display of reverence. It was amusing, in a twisted sort of way, to see them bowing down to a fake version of me.
“Stand up!” the great leader raised his hand, commanding them, they obeyed without hesitation. His presence exuded authority.
"Now explain to me, what do you mean by one of these people has my curse?" he demanded, his tone firm and unwavering.
"The doctor said he bore your curse, my lord. He was in pain earlier," one of the thugs stammered, his voice trembling with fear as he pointed a shaky finger in my direction. His eyes darted nervously between me and the great leader, as if unsure of what repercussions his words might bring.
“They could be lying,” the great leader responded calmly, his voice carrying an air of authority.
The tension in the room was palpable as the thugs exchanged nervous glances, clearly unsure of how to proceed.
“Yes, he could be lying. But we haven't mentioned anything about you," another thug chimed in, his voice mirroring the uncertainty of his companion. "Also, that doctor is the one in the viral video," he added, as if that explained everything.
A gesture of recognition flickered across the great leader's body. "Oh, that combat doctor," he mused, his tone contemplative. "The one who can defeat a paladin in a duel and succeed in saving his colleague alone from the monster nest."
The thugs nodded eagerly, seemingly relieved that their leader had made the connection.
“Yes, him!” the first thug exclaimed excitedly, his eyes wide with fervor. "There's something different about that doctor," he continued, his voice tinged with awe.
'Ugh, how did he know about that incident?' I pondered inwardly. It seemed that this great leader knew more than I had initially assumed. Perhaps I had underestimated him. It seemed the viral video had brought me unexpected fame and attention, providing valuable clues for my mission. But on the other hand, it had also exposed me to scrutiny and potentially dangerous situations.
“Hmm… weird. In that video, that paladin is quite skilled. Yet that combat doctor was able to defeat him easily," the great leader mused aloud, his voice betraying a hint of curiosity. "But why can you catch it so easily?" he added, directing his question to the thugs.
The thugs exchanged uncertain glances, clearly unsure of how to respond to their leader's inquiry.
"Maybe this has something to do with the curse, my lord," one of the thugs ventured tentatively, his voice tinged with uncertainty.
The great leader's gaze narrowed thoughtfully as he processed the thug's words. His expression remained inscrutable, betraying no hint of his thoughts.
“Yes. Based on their conversation earlier, it seemed like this wasn't the first time he felt such pain. He knows it's because of the curse," another thug chimed in, his tone carrying a note of conviction.
"Did he feel any pain when you caught him?" the great leader inquired, his voice measured and authoritative.
“No,” one of the thugs replied promptly. "But maybe he is already weak," he added hastily, as if trying to offer an explanation for my apparent lack of distress.
The great leader's brows furrowed in contemplation, his lips pursed in thought. "Hmm…" he murmured, his tone thoughtful as he mulled over their responses.
Suddenly, he straightened, his gaze fixating on us with unwavering intensity. "Red Demons, bring them to me," he commanded, his voice resonating with authority.
The Red Demons nodded in acknowledgment.

Make sense. I will replace it with gesture then.
