The Incubus System Chapter 917. Undescribed

"Leave?" I echoed, my confusion palpable in the air between us. The idea seemed foreign to me, unfathomable even.

"Have you ever had a boyfriend before?" I ventured, trying to piece together the puzzle of her past experiences.

She shook her head, her movements slow and deliberate. "No," she admitted softly, her gaze fixed on the ground. "You are my first and only one."

A pang of realization tugged at my heartstrings as I realized the weight of her confession. I was her first and only love, her sole tether to a world she had never known before.

"Right," I murmured, my mind racing with thoughts and questions. ‘This must be something related to her family,’ I guessed. It was the only explanation that made sense, the only thread connecting the pieces of her past to the present.

But as much as I wanted to delve deeper into the matter, to understand the root cause of her fears and insecurities, I knew that some wounds were best left untouched. I didn't want to reopen old scars or dredge up painful memories, especially when it came to matters concerning family.

So instead, I kept my thoughts to myself, choosing to respect Ruby.

I held her hand gently, the weight of our conversation heavy in the air between us. "So... what does it mean that all of this stems from your insecurity?" I asked, my voice soft and filled with concern. "Is it because you're afraid I'll leave or throw you away?" I tried to keep my tone calm, despite the turmoil swirling inside me.

Once again, Ruby fell silent, her expression clouded with a mixture of emotions. It was clear that my question had struck a nerve, tapping into the depths of her insecurities and fears. But instead of the usual outburst or dramatic reaction, she remained surprisingly composed, her demeanor more subdued than usual.

Her gloomy face seemed to reflect the weight of her inner turmoil, the shadows of her past haunting her every move. And yet, there was something different about her, something that caught my attention and gave me pause. She looked... normal. More normal than she had since the day we first met.

She nodded, her eyes locking onto mine with an intensity that took me by surprise. There was a seriousness in her gaze, a rawness that laid bare all the emotions swirling inside her.

"This sounds crazy, maybe," she began, her voice soft yet filled with conviction. "But this feeling inside me... I can't describe it. It's like boiling water, trying to come out of me, Ethan,” she continued.

As she spoke, her words resonated with a raw honesty that left me speechless. It was clear that she was baring her soul to me, laying bare the depths of her emotions in a way that was both unsettling and strangely captivating.

"I want you. 24/7," she continued, her voice trembling with emotion. "I want you by my side. I want to know what you are doing, your every movement, your every breath. I would die for you, Ethan. If you want my life, you can take it. That's how much control you have over me... Even without the contract... You already have control over me, Ethan."

I was taken aback by the intensity of her emotions, by the sheer force of her love. It was both exhilarating and terrifying, a rollercoaster of emotions that threatened to overwhelm me.

Her words hung in the air between us, heavy with the weight of her confession. It was a declaration of love and devotion unlike anything I had ever experienced before.

I was stunned into silence by Ruby's confession. I mean, sure, I always knew she was a little intense, but this... this was something else entirely. I couldn't wrap my head around it, couldn't fathom the depth of her emotions or the reasons behind them.

Why would someone become so attached to another person? Why would they feel the need to possess them, to control their every move and breath? It didn't make sense to me, and yet, here I was, faced with the reality of Ruby's overwhelming love and devotion.

"That sounds crazy indeed," she finally continued, her voice tinged with sadness. "Or... maybe I am. But yes, that's what I feel," Ruby continued, her voice trembling with emotion. "It felt hard to hold it in. The feeling just keeps growing, and I can't suppress it at all."

Her eyes filled with a mixture of love, longing, and vulnerability, I knew that I couldn't turn away.

I reached out to take her hand in mine. "You have tried to suppress it before?" I asked, my voice tinged with curiosity. I hadn't expected Ruby to reveal such a vulnerable side of herself, and yet here she was, opening up to me in ways I never thought possible.

"I was," she admitted, her tone somber and filled with pain. It was as if she could still feel the sting of her past experiences, the memories of her pain etched into her very being. "When you disappeared without a word and I didn't know where you were. I was on the verge of insanity and tried to forget you so bad," she confessed, her words heavy with emotion.

I could see the tears welling up in her eyes, threatening to spill over at any moment. It was clear that the memories of her past were still fresh in her mind, still haunting her every thought and action.

"But I can't... I can't..." she repeated, her voice trembling with frustration. It was a sentiment I could relate to all too well, the feeling of being unable to escape the grasp of one's own emotions, no matter how hard you try.

"It was so frustrating, so I took my despair out on Larry," she continued, her words tinged with regret. It was clear that her past experiences had left deep scars on her soul, scars that she carried with her every day.
