Ruby answered me with a mischievous smile. “I'm waking you up~” she said in a teasing tone. She was sitting on my bed by my side. She didn't wear her maid dress, but wore her casual dress. She was cute indeed and I liked her dress, yet... the fact she was my servant and was aware that I was a demon lord, but she still acted like a crazy stalker, made me cringe a little. I mean, I was starting to question whether she understood the concept of fear if it related to me.
"That's not how you wake someone up," I complained, although the truth was, it was quite effective. I was wide awake now and not interested in sleeping anymore.
She laughed, a melodious sound that filled the room. “Well, it worked, didn't it?” she retorted playfully.
I couldn't help but chuckle at her response. "Still. You can’t do that," I stated, shaking my head in amusement.
"Why?" she pouted, a frown on her face. “I heard Foxy once woke you up with a BJ,” she said in a teasing tone, her eyes fixed on my crotch. “I mean, you're an incubus, you should like that kind of stuff, right?”
But then I remembered something. “Wait a minute, how did you get in?” I asked with a frown, narrowing my eyes at her.
"Celia opened the door for me," she said with an innocent smile, as if it were the most obvious thing in the world.
I sighed in exasperation, shaking my head. "Of course she did," I muttered under my breath. Celia surely wanted to get her revenge, much to my annoyance.
But the fact that Ruby came that fast means she was indeed around here from the start. In other words, she was still stalking me!
“So--- You are still stalking me?” I asked, making sure to clarify.
“No,” she defended herself, her tone indignant. “We are in some kind of relationship, right? That doesn't count as stalking,” she reminded me, her logic seeming a bit skewed. "Besides, I was only watching you from the window," she added, as if that made it any better.
I raised an eyebrow, skeptical of her explanation. "Uh-huh, and I suppose you were just casually strolling by my window in the morning?" I retorted, my tone dripping with sarcasm.
Ruby rolled her eyes, unfazed by my sarcasm. "Well, you never know when you might need a wake-up call," she said with a smirk.
I cringed. It seemed common logic didn't apply to her and she couldn't tell what was normal or not. “Right…” I said. "You know if you want to come you can send me a message, right?" I reminded her. I had ordered her that she couldn't contact me telepathically unless it was an emergency. I was afraid she would abuse it for whining or talking to me 24/7. That would drive me crazy.
Ruby just shrugged, looking unrepentant. "Where's the fun in that?" she said with a playful grin.
I rolled my eyes, feeling a headache coming on. "The fun is in respecting people's boundaries and privacy," I retorted, trying to keep my voice calm.
She waved a dismissive hand. "You know you like having me around," she said, her tone teasing.
I sighed, feeling a mixture of irritation and resignation. "That's not the point, Ruby," I said, trying to get through to her. "I just need some space, you know? A little breathing room."
She pouted, looking hurt. "But I just want to be close to you," she said, her voice softening.
I sighed, running a hand through my hair in frustration. Dealing with Ruby always felt like walking through a minefield— one wrong move, and boom, you're in for a world of trouble. "Look, Ruby, I appreciate the gesture, but next time, maybe just stick to texting or send me a mental message, okay?" I suggested, trying to keep my tone diplomatic.
Her eyes lit up immediately. "You mean telepathically?" she said, her excitement palpable.
“Only for urgent reasons,” I reiterated firmly, not wanting to encourage her overly zealous behavior.
"Meeting you is an urgent reason," she argued enthusiastically, her tone dripping with persistence.
I resisted the urge to roll my eyes. Again, her definition of urgent seemed to differ vastly from mine. "No, urgent means business," I clarified, hoping to set some boundaries. But I couldn't help but feel a pang of guilt at her disappointed expression.
She looked like a deflated balloon, her enthusiasm dampened by my refusal. "Okay... you can. But only once in a while," I backtracked, trying to soften the blow.
Still, her disappointment was palpable. But then I remembered all the times she had invaded my privacy and disregarded my personal space, and the feeling dissipated as quickly as it had come.
'Why did I make this insane woman my servant?' I thought, a note of exasperation creeping into my mind. It was like inviting chaos into my life willingly.
My eyes fell on Ruby, who was now pouting like a petulant child denied their favorite toy. The old saying echoed in my mind, "Don't stick your dick in crazy," and I couldn't help but wonder if I had made a grave mistake in hiring her.
She pouted, crossing her arms over her chest. "But I like surprising you. Keeps things interesting,” she whined.
I couldn't help but roll my eyes at her logic. "Yeah, well, I could do without the heart attacks," I muttered under my breath.
Ruby just grinned, seemingly undeterred by my complaints. "Aw, come on, Ethan. You know you love it," she teased, nudging me playfully with her elbow.
I cringed. "Whatever you say. I already gave my boundaries," I replied.
Her face lit up with realization. "Well,” she teased. "You know me, Ethan. I'm more of a 'spontaneous' kind of girl," she said with a playful wink.
I resisted the urge to roll my eyes. "Yeah, I've noticed," I muttered under my breath.
