It was night already when I arrived near my house. The dim glow of streetlights illuminated the quiet streets, casting long shadows across the pavement. I glanced around cautiously, making sure no one was watching me as I approached the familiar path leading to my home.
They, of course, didn't take me straight to my house after the organization kidnapped me. Instead, they dropped me off in the same park where they had initially abducted me. It was a calculated move on their part, aimed at reducing suspicion and avoiding detection.
To avoid raising any further suspicions, I decided to walk home instead of using my portal. Sure, I could have easily teleported straight to my doorstep, but there was something strangely calming about the simple act of putting one foot in front of the other, and feeling the cool night air against my skin.
I couldn't help but entertain the idea that maybe, just maybe, the vaccine had bestowed upon me additional attributes or resistance to certain threats. It was a tantalizing possibility, one that filled me with both excitement and trepidation. After all, who wouldn't want to possess newfound powers or abilities?
The sky above was painted with shades of deep blue, the stars twinkling faintly in the darkness. It was a peaceful night. With each step I took, the sound of my footsteps echoed softly in the stillness, a comforting rhythm that grounded me in the present moment.
I couldn't shake the nagging worry in the back of my mind, though. Mrs. Clea hadn't reached out to me since our last communication. I hoped fervently that her absence didn't signify any trouble on her end.
My breath misted in the chilly night air. Today had been a whirlwind of activity, with me deploying my Manipulation, Illusion, and Mind Corruption skills multiple times to manipulate the organization's perception of events. It was all part of my strategy to maintain control and steer the narrative in my favor.
As I strolled through the quiet streets, the cool night air refreshing against my skin, I couldn't help but take a moment to check my system. Unfortunately, I didn't see any changes in my status except for my VIT points which increased by 35 points.

Lost in thought, I pondered the curious connection between vaccines and VIT points. It was an odd correlation, one that I hadn't considered before. Could consuming vaccines really enhance my vitality points? It seemed like a stretch, but then again, stranger things had happened in this world.
Shaking my head to clear my mind, I dismissed the notion for the time being.
With a sigh, I closed my status screen. Despite my attempts to distract myself, my thoughts kept drifting back to recent events. The encounter with the organization had left me feeling unsettled, like a guy who had just been rejected by a girl he fancied.
I couldn't shake the nagging worry about Celia's safety. The organization's failed attempt to capture me had undoubtedly caused a stir, and I couldn't help but wonder if they would turn their attention to her next. However, I reasoned that targeting Celia would be a futile endeavor for them. After all, they had made it clear that she wasn't compatible with the vaccine, making her an unlikely candidate for their experiments.
Still, I couldn't afford to let my guard down. I vowed to keep a close eye on Celia, enlisting Foxy's help to ensure her safety. She may have a similar bloodline to mine, but that didn't make her any less vulnerable to the organization's machinations.
'It would be better if they tried it on Nathan.' A random thought popped into my head, and it was enough to crack a smirk on my face. Just picturing Nathan, of all people, turning into some kind of holy super soldier after taking the vaccine was too hilarious to ignore. I mean, Nathan suddenly sprouting wings and soaring through the sky like a majestic bird? It was too ridiculous not to chuckle at.
With a shake of my head, I pushed the thought aside. Dwelling on improbable scenarios wouldn't do me any good, especially when there were more pressing matters to attend to. I needed to focus on regaining my composure and figuring out my next move.
I arrived at my house, feeling a mix of exhaustion and relief wash over me. With a tired sigh, I fumbled for my keys and unlocked the door, stepping inside. Immediately, my pets greeted me with their usual enthusiasm, their wagging tails and excited yips filling the air.
“You're home earlier than expected, Your Highness,” Red exclaimed, his tail wagging furiously as he bounded over to me. His eager eyes seemed to be begging for details about my day.
Shadow, on the other hand, lounged lazily on the sofa, observing the scene with a nonchalant air. “I bet he just had an unpleasant experience,” he remarked coolly, his gaze flickering over to me.
Meanwhile, Buni couldn't contain his enthusiasm. “What is it? What is it?” he chirped eagerly, bouncing around me in excitement.
Rave fluttered around me, his wings beating rapidly before he settled on my shoulder, his presence comforting.
“Should I call Celia and Foxy? They're up there,” he suggested, his voice tinged with concern.
I sighed heavily, feeling the weight of the failed mission settling on my shoulders. “The mission has failed,” I announced grimly, my frustration evident in my tone. With a tired gesture, I kicked off my shoes and flopped down onto the sofa, sinking into its soft cushions.
Grabbing the remote from where it lay abandoned on the couch, I aimed it at the TV and switched it on, the familiar glow of the screen filling the room. “They gave me like more than a gallon of holy vaccine and it's useless,” I grumbled irritably, my annoyance palpable.
