Seven Sins System Chapter 343. Unholy Transaction

Seven Sins System Chapter 343. Unholy Transaction

The leader, burlier and taller than the rest, stepped forward with an air of authority. This was Xalgrim, the embodiment of their command. His eyes, gleaming with an otherworldly intelligence, were fixed intently on the woman ensnared in my tentacles. The collective gaze of the dark centaurs conveyed a mixture of curiosity and predatory intent.

The cavern reverberated with the echoing cadence of their hooves as they encircled us. The air became thick with an undeniable tension, the primal energy emanating from these creatures casting a palpable veil of darkness over the surroundings.

As the dark centaur closed the distance, the woman's eyes widened in terror, her struggle against the tentacles becoming more frantic.

Xalgrim's red eyes narrowed as his gaze fixated on the captured mortal woman, a hunger evident in his demonic expression. The woman, ensnared in my tentacles, shivered under the intensity of his predatory scrutiny. A wicked grin curled upon Xalgrim's lips, revealing a satisfaction at the prospect of a new acquisition.

“A bride,” he hissed, the words slithering out with an otherworldly resonance that sent a chill down the woman's spine. Her fear was palpable.

“Yes, it's a mortal,” I affirmed, my tone casual, almost salesman-like. I flashed a confident smile, playing the role of the devilish broker presenting a unique commodity. "I remember you liked the soul that came with me last time, but souls don’t have bodies. This time, you're in for a treat."

I gestured dramatically to the woman, emphasizing her corporeal presence. The air in the cavern seemed to thicken with a sense of anticipation as I continued my pitch.

"I believe you guys will like this one," I added, my tone suggestive of shared enjoyment among comrades.

Leaning in closer to the dark centaurs, I wore a mischievous smile, a hint of secrecy coloring my voice. "This is just between us, okay? It's a secret deal." I emphasized the exclusivity of the arrangement, creating an atmosphere of clandestine collaboration. The woman, caught in the midst of this dark negotiation, looked increasingly horrified at the realization that she was the coveted prize in this unholy transaction.

The five dark centaurs grinned in sinister joy. Their red eyes glowed with satisfaction and anticipation, fixated on the mortal woman ensnared in my tentacles. The cavernous space echoed with an eerie silence as the atmosphere thickened with the unspoken agreement.

Their demonic features contorted into wicked smiles, revealing sharp teeth and an unsettling delight that danced across their monstrous countenances. Xalgrim led the fiendish chorus of approval with a guttural hiss, relishing the prospect of the mortal offering.

The woman, caught in the crossfire of their demonic gaze, trembled in fear. The centaurs' excitement intensified, their equine hooves clicking on the rocky floor in a macabre dance of anticipation.

"Yes," Xalgrim said with a grin, showcasing a menacing array of sharp teeth that seemed almost eager for what was to come.

Another centaur, drawn by the scent of fear emanating from the trembling woman, approached her with a predatory curiosity. He circled her, his upper demon half leering, and lowered his head to sniff her. In response, I subtly manipulated my tentacles, bringing the woman closer for a more thorough inspection.

The woman's fear escalated into visible tremors, tears streaming down her face like an offering to their ominous delight. It was a spectacle that mirrored the tormented souls I had once encountered in my devilish pursuits.

"She smells nice," the centaur declared with satisfaction, his sinister smile widening.

"Of course. And she always dreamed of becoming a mother. Perfect for giving birth to your children, right?" I reassured them with a practiced charm, a hopeful undertone in my voice. Inwardly, my fingers were crossed, praying that they would accept this woman as their bride. If they did, it would mean the acceleration of their reproduction, resulting in more guardians for their territory.

The Malifex Clan, despite their ominous appearance, was a formidable demon tribe. Their unique nature stemmed from being born from the womb of a single female, making them a clan rather than a typical tribe. Unusual as it might sound, all of them were brothers. Their significance lay in their role as protectors, akin to sheriffs safeguarding their territory. They permitted other demons to reside in their domain but expelled those who attempted to claim it or carried out massacres on lesser demons. Their contribution was crucial for maintaining balance in the shadow realm ecosystem.

However, the population of the Malifex Clan had steadily dwindled over the past two centuries since the death of their last female breeder. The absence of a female had disrupted their reproductive cycle, putting their tribe at risk of extinction. The arrival of this mortal woman was an opportunity to reverse their decline, and in my dealings with them, I hoped to secure a new beginning for the Malifex Clan.

As their population continued to decline, the Malifex Clan found it increasingly challenging to guard their territory. Wild demons, sensing weakness, began causing chaos, and, of course, it fell on me to handle the mess. So, yeah, offering them a female bride wasn't just a favor; it was a solution to my problems too.

"But can she breed?" Xalgrim asked, a necessary question to ensure the success of their plan. He tilted his head, scrutinizing me for an answer. It was a delicate matter; their pride would be severely wounded if she couldn't get pregnant right away.

“Wait a second,” I replied, taking a moment to employ my Observation skill on her, double-checking her condition. While I already knew from her memories about her previous failed attempts, her recent medical check-up indicated she should be able to conceive. My observation confirmed it. The reason for their previous struggles seemed to be a genetic incompatibility between her and her mortal partner. Despite her efforts with different men, fate had denied her a mortal child. However, demons, especially the Malifex Clan, didn't operate under the same rules as mortals.

"She can. The last time she indeed couldn't have children, but I've checked her health, and it wasn't because of her," I confirmed, addressing their concerns. “Also, I'll provide her with tonics to maintain her condition. You won't have any issues in that department.”
