The Incubus System Chapter 828. The Great Demon Is A Demon Lord?

In that explosive moment, the colossal lightning of my Dark Storm clashed ferociously with the celestial wrath of Heaven Judgment. The sheer magnitude of the impact sent shockwaves reverberating through the sky, creating an ear-splitting cacophony that resounded through the heavens. Winds whipped violently, as if nature itself were protesting the clash of such mighty forces. The ensuing sparks of thunder erupted in every direction, painting the sky in a chaotic dance of electricity.

However, I stood there, my arms calmly folded in front of my chest. Unfazed by the chaos unfolding around me, I remained protected by my Barrier. To me, the sparks that whizzed past me were no more significant than fireflies in the night, their fleeting existence barely registering in the grand scheme of the battle. My gaze remained cold and unwavering.

The cataclysmic clash between my Dark Storm and the celestial fury of Heaven Judgment came to an end, the very fabric of the battlefield seemed to exhale a collective sigh of relief. The electric turmoil calmed, dissipating into the atmosphere. The drones that had been pursuing me, along with the Heaven Judgment itself, had been utterly obliterated, leaving not a trace behind. A grin, icy and triumphant, curled on my lips.

With a measured movement of my hand, I raised it skyward. Clenching my fist, I canceled my Devil Space, shattering the ethereal dome that had sealed this battleground. The once-constrained, dark skies parted, unveiling a vast expanse of brilliant blue.

From my vantage point high above, I looked down upon a world that was completely unaware of the otherworldly battles that had just raged below. People on the ground, civilians and onlookers alike, gasped in shock as they beheld the scene that was unfolding before them. Reporters, with their cameras trained on the sky, had their eyes widened in disbelief, capturing every moment of this extraordinary event.

Even the police, who were supposed to maintain order and enforce the law, had temporarily forgotten their duties. Their gaze was locked onto the spectacle that was me, hovering amidst the now-cleared heavens. The shock and awe rippled through the crowd as they tried to comprehend the demon lord.

I hovered in the sky, my gaze roved over the ground, observing the reactions of the people below. The sight was strikingly different when I was shrouded in this imposing form. I could discern their fear and apprehension clearly, etched across their faces.

For some, their instinct was to step back, as if trying to create distance between themselves and this awe-inspiring apparition. Panic fueled their steps, and they soon broke into a sprint, fleeing from the otherworldly presence in the sky.

Others, gripped by fear, seemed to be immobilized. They stood like statues, their eyes fixed firmly on the dark figure above, terror locking their muscles in place.

As I observed this spectrum of reactions, I couldn't help but feel a mix of emotions. This kind of fear, born from the realization that I was a demon lord, was an unfamiliar sensation. It was a stark reminder of the inherent divide between the current me and humanity.

Ignoring the stares of the people below, I pivoted in the air and directed my attention to the portal behind me. With a powerful leap, I glided backward, vanishing into the swirling vortex of the portal. There was no farewell, no parting words for the bewildered onlookers; I simply melted into the darkness and returned to my demon world, leaving the human world.

Demon hunters and humans' PoV

The gathered crowd below gasped in unison, their collective gaze locked onto the imposing figure that had earned the moniker of the Great Demon in their modern folklore. This enigmatic entity was a recurring presence in the chaos of urban battles, an inscrutable force whose allegiances remained shrouded in ambiguity. Despite the prevailing uncertainties, one fact was etched in their collective memory: the Great Demon had never shown any overt malevolence toward humanity.

But today, something was different. Today, the Great Demon's appearance was unlike any they had ever witnessed before. Where once there had been an air of eerily handsome features, there was now a stark departure from familiarity. The figure that hovered above was a stark departure from the ethereal savior they thought they knew.

Their collective breaths hitched as they beheld a terrifying transformation. What was once a symbol of mysterious protection had become an embodiment of something otherworldly. Unfurling wings, ominous scales, and a wicked grin replaced the familiar enigma they had come to rely on. In place of their ethereal guardian, they were now confronted with a being that exuded malevolence.

Despite the dread that gripped their hearts, they couldn't tear their eyes away from the spectacle. Their faith in the benevolent Great Demon was shaken to its core, and their curiosity mingled with fear. Whose side was this menacing entity truly on?

The stunned crowd couldn't do much but stare at the Great Demon's true form. It was unlike anything they had ever witnessed, and it sent shivers down their spines. The aura it radiated was beyond intimidating, and the realization struck them like a thunderbolt - the Great Demon was no mere protector; they were in the presence of a demon lord.

The ordinary bystanders, those who weren't demon hunters and didn't possess the Demon Compasses, could sense it too. It was undeniable, the palpable pressure and Demonic Aura that emanated from this fearsome being. The crowd felt it, an instinctual awareness of the tremendous power that loomed over them.

As the Great Demon departed through the enigmatic portal, the spectators remained rooted in place. Their hearts raced, and their bodies trembled with the intensity of the encounter.

"The Great Demon... is a demon lord?" one brave soul dared to utter the question that lingered in the minds of all present. No answer was needed; the truth was as evident as the day. The realization hung heavily in the air, and it was a truth they would have to come to terms with, whether they liked it or not.
