The Incubus System Chapter 794. I'm The Big Bad Demon

Miranda glanced at me. "Hey, Ethan," she called out, her voice a mixture of exhaustion and pride.

I approached her, a smile tugging at my lips. "You did well, Miranda," I commended.

She nodded, wiping the sweat from her forehead with the back of her hand. "Thanks. It's not easy, but I want to get better," she replied between breaths.

I patted her shoulder gently. "You're making great progress. Just remember to rest and recover properly," I advised.

Red came over as well, his huge tail wagging in approval. "She's got potential," he said, his canine grin showing his satisfaction.

Miranda chuckled weakly. "Thanks, Red."

"Anyway, did something happen?" Red inquired, his curiosity evident in his tone. I could tell that he had sensed there was more to my absence than met the eye. He always had a knack for reading between the lines.

I scratched the back of my head, a sheepish grin forming on my lips. "Yeah. I, uh... found something beyond my predictions," I admitted, trying to keep the details vague for now.

Before I could elaborate further, Buni bounded over to us, his fluffy form full of energy. "Is it a cat?" he chimed in, his ears perked up inquisitively.

I chuckled at Buni's assumption. "No, Buni. Not a cat," I replied, my gaze shifting to him as well. “It’s a little human.”

A shadowy figure appeared next to Buni, and I turned my attention to Shadow and Rave as they joined our little group and approached us.

Red's ears perked up as I began to explain the unusual situation. "A little human?" he repeated, clearly intrigued by the unexpected turn of events.

Buni's eyes widened, his rabbit-like curiosity getting the better of him. "Wait, you mean a kid?" he asked, his voice tinged with disbelief.

I nodded, rubbing the back of my neck awkwardly. "Yeah, a kid. She was just sitting alone on the balcony of an empty apartment," I admitted.

Shadow, who had a habit of being the quiet observer, tilted his head, his black fur shimmering slightly in the moonlight. "Why was she there?" he asked, his tone calm and composed.

I let out a sigh. "Her mom apparently left her there while she went on a date or something," I explained, my frustration evident in my voice.

Rave, perched on the unfinished fence, let out a low whistle. "That's messed up," he commented, his eyes reflecting his disapproval.

Red's expression shifted from curiosity to concern. "So, what's the plan?" he inquired, his focus fully on the situation at hand.

I glanced at each of my pets, grateful for their understanding and support. "I brought her to my house. Mrs. Clea is taking her to the hospital. She's not in a good state," I said, my tone heavy with worry.

Buni's ears drooped, his playful demeanor replaced by empathy. "Poor kid. That's rough," he mumbled.

"Yeah, it is," I agreed. "I'll have to deal with her situation and figure out what to do next."

"How old is she?" asked Miranda, her voice tinged with concern as she stood back on her feet. Her face was etched with worry as she glanced between me and the situation at hand.

I rubbed the back of my neck, my uncertainty evident. "I think around ten," I replied, my brows furrowing as I tried to estimate the young girl's age.

"Ten?" Miranda repeated, her surprise clear in her tone. She looked at me with a mix of sympathy and disbelief. "That's... really young."

I nodded in agreement, sharing her sentiment. "Yeah, it is," I admitted with a huff. A hint of sadness was in the tone of my voice.

Miranda's expression suddenly shifted, a realization dawning on her. "Wait a second..." she began, her voice trailing off as she covered her mouth, her eyes widening. She looked at me with a mix of concern and disgust.

I raised an eyebrow, puzzled by her reaction. "What is it?" I asked, curiosity getting the better of me.

"You aren't going to take her to your harem, right?" Miranda's voice was laced with disgust as she voiced the question that had apparently been lingering in her mind.

I blinked in surprise at her bluntness, then quickly shook my head in response. "No," I retorted, my tone more forceful than I intended. "She's just a child. I'm definitely not into that kind of thing," I said, my shock at her assumption evident in my voice.

Miranda's expression seemed to relax a bit at my immediate denial. "Oh," she responded, her initial concern giving way to a more relieved demeanor. "Good to hear that," she added with a small nod.

I rolled my eyes playfully, unable to completely suppress my amusement at the way she had jumped to conclusions. "Really, Miranda? You think I'd just bring a kid into my 'harem'?" I scoffed, using air quotes for emphasis. "That's a whole new level of messed up."

She chuckled softly at my words, a sheepish smile tugging at the corners of her lips. "Okay, okay, maybe I overreacted a bit," she admitted, her tone conceding the point.

I gave her a flat stare, my amusement still lingering. "A bit? You practically accused me of being a child trafficker," I said, my voice a mix of mock indignation and amusement.

Miranda playfully bumped her shoulder against mine, a grin spreading across her face. "Well, you can't blame me for being cautious," she quipped.

I sighed dramatically, feigning exasperation. "Yeah, yeah, I get it. I'm the big bad demon, so obviously I have ulterior motives," I said with a theatrical eye roll.

She laughed at my antics, the tension from earlier dissipating into a more lighthearted atmosphere. "Alright, let's not keep her waiting then. Back to business?"

I nodded in agreement, appreciating the way Miranda was able to bring a sense of normalcy back to the situation. "Right, let's go back now. I still have a few things to take care of," I said, opening my portal.

If she has a boy she'll have to grapple with her human morals and feed him. Would instinct be strong enough to get her to feed him or would she struggle at first? An interesting (and gross) concept to think about.
