The Incubus System Chapter 736. We Can Do All The Forbidden Things We Want

The Incubus System Chapter 736. We Can Do All The Forbidden Things We Want

I stood before Larry's house, my hands slightly fidgeting with the pizza box. I looked at the front door before pressing the doorbell.

A faint chime resonated within the house, but there was no immediate response. As I waited, my gaze wandered to the surroundings. The sun cast a warm glow over the neighborhood, casting long shadows on the sidewalk. A gentle breeze rustled the leaves of nearby trees, creating a soothing melody. Birds chirped in the distance, their cheerful songs adding to the tranquil atmosphere.

After pushing the doorbell again, I waited again, shifting my weight from one foot to the other, the anticipation building within me. Seconds turned into minutes, and still, there was no sign of Larry.

I couldn't help but feel a tinge of disappointment and uncertainty. Had he forgotten about our plans? Or was he caught up in something unexpected?

Curiosity got the better of me, and I couldn't resist peering through the windows, but I saw no one.

‘He's not asleep, is he?’ That thought crossed my mind as I stood outside Larry's house, staring at the silent front door. The events of last night had surely taken their toll on him, and it wouldn't be surprising if he was catching up on some much-needed rest. Besides, his mother's absence indicated that the house was likely empty, leaving him to his own devices.

Impatience got the better of me, and I reached for my phone, ready to dial his number. It only took a few rings before he answered.

"Where are you? I'm in front of your house," I blurted out, unable to hide my annoyance.

"Oh shit! You're already here?" came his surprised response. "Wait, give me a minute. I'll be right down."

After the noisy commotion inside, the door swung open, revealing Larry's disheveled appearance. His hair was tousled, and his eyes held a glimmer of mischief. It was clear from his face that he hadn't just woken up.

"Let me guess... you were busy playing games with your headphones on," I said, raising an eyebrow and giving him my signature flat stare.

"Yup!" he responded with an innocent grin, unabashed by my accusation. "Luckily, I had my phone on vibrator mode," he added proudly as if it was some sort of achievement.

I couldn't help but cringe at his choice of words. "You mean vibration mode?" I corrected him, feeling a mix of amusement and exasperation. Despite his quirks, I found it hard to stay mad at him.

"Meh, same thing," he replied nonchalantly, shrugging off my correction. With a casual wave of his hand, he gestured for me to enter his house.

"That's so typical of you," I chuckled, shaking my head in mock disapproval. "Luckily, I'm well acquainted with your antics. People might get the wrong idea if they overhear that," I added, placing the pizza box on the kitchen counter.

Larry eagerly grabbed the box from my hands. "Just bring it upstairs. My mom's not home, so we can do all the forbidden things we want," he said mischievously, a sly smirk playing on his lips.

His choice of words, "forbidden things," made me cringe once again. They had an ambiguous undertone that could be interpreted in numerous ways. However, I knew what he meant. It was his way of saying we could goof around in his room without any nagging from his mom.

"You should really stop misleading people," I complained, my tone laced with a hint of exasperation.

Larry's brows furrowed in confusion. "What do you mean?" he asked, genuinely perplexed by my remark.

I let out a sigh, realizing that it was probably not the right time to delve into the matter. "Never mind. Let's just go up the stairs," I said, deciding to drop the subject for now and cut the case short.

Larry shrugged, seemingly content with my response, and led the way up the stairs.

I stepped into Larry's room. The chaotic scene unfolded before me. Clothes were scattered across the floor and empty snack wrappers decorated some places. It was as if a whirlwind had swept through the room, leaving a trail of disarray in its wake and the TV screen, still flickering with the paused game. And there, nestled on his bed, was ‘Nana-chan’.

I couldn't help but shake my head in disbelief. "You really should tidy up your room," I protested, sweeping my eyes around the cluttered space. The messiness seemed to be a constant characteristic of Larry's living quarters, but it never ceased to amaze me.

Larry chuckled and shrugged off my concern. "Ah, it's fine. I know where everything is," he replied nonchalantly, dismissing the importance of orderliness. He then turned his attention toward me, a mischievous grin spreading across his face. "Anyway, don't you feel anything different from me?" he asked, his voice filled with excitement. With a confident gesture, he opened his arms wide, as if presenting something extraordinary.

"What?" I asked, my frown deepening. Larry's excitement was contagious, but I couldn't quite grasp what he was getting at.

"Like something," he insisted, his grin widening. His eyes sparkled with anticipation, and I could tell he was bursting with something he couldn't wait to share.

I studied him intently, my gaze moving up and down, searching for any noticeable changes. He stood there, his usual self, wearing his favorite gaming T-shirt and a pair of faded jeans. His messy hair stuck out in every direction, as it always did. But there was nothing outwardly different about him that would explain his heightened enthusiasm.

"You look the same," I finally concluded, my confusion evident in my voice.

His smile faded as he saw my continued confusion. With a hint of disappointment in his voice, he finally spoke up. "I've got more muscles now," he said, pulling up the sleeve of his shirt to reveal his biceps. "See? You're so insensitive," he complained as if I were some clueless guy who couldn't tell the difference between pink and red.

"How am I supposed to notice that?! It's literally hidden behind your clothes!" I shot back, feeling slightly exasperated.

"But I'm wearing a slim-fit shirt! You should have noticed the difference!" he retorted, his voice filled with a touch of frustration.

I couldn't help but roll my eyes in response. Larry always had a way of turning the most mundane things into a big deal.
