297. 17 Wild Dom Play: The Incubus Dark Romance (3)

Without waiting for an answer, I went inside. As I stepped into the room, I felt transported back in time. The elegant parlor room was decorated with ornate furniture, plush rugs, and beautiful paintings that adorned the walls. The dim lighting cast a warm glow over the room, adding to the ambiance of the space.

I took a moment to let my eyes adjust to the surroundings, taking in the intricate details of the room. The delicate lace curtains that draped the windows, the polished wooden floors that creaked underfoot, and the ornate chandeliers that hung from the ceiling. It was a room straight out of a Victorian novel.

The air was thick with the scent of flowers, a mixture of different fragrances that blended together to create a heady aroma. It was a pleasant scent, one that added to the beauty of the space.

My eyes quickly noticed Maria sitting on a chair by the window. She looked out with a sad expression on her face, her gaze fixed on the world outside.

Her beauty was breathtaking, especially in the Victorian-era princess costume she wore. She didn’t look like a demon at all, but an elegant princess. Her dress was made of the finest silk, embroidered with intricate designs that glittered in the soft light. The delicate lace that adorned the neckline added a touch of elegance to the already stunning gown.

But it was her long hair that caught my attention the most. It was a silver hue, cascading down her back in a waterfall of shimmering strands. I couldn't take my eyes off her.

Despite her beauty, however, her sad expression tugged at my heartstrings. I knew it was an act, but I was surprised she took her act this far.

"Are you alright?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper.

Maria turned to look at me, her silver hair cascading down her back. She gave me a sad smile and shook her head.

"You know I'm not alright," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.

I could see the pain in her eyes, the sadness that seemed to consume her. It was like a genuine one.

"I'm here for you," I said, taking her hand in mine. "What's bothering you?"

She looked at me, her eyes searching mine for some kind of solace.

"Why are you here?" she asked, her voice laced with suspicion. "What do you want from me?"

I could feel the weight of her words, the distrust that seemed to radiate from her every pore. So I decided to follow her act. I had to prove to her that I was there to help.

"I'm here because I care about you," I said, my voice steady and calm. "I want to help you in any way that I can."

Maria looked at me for a long moment, her eyes searching mine for some kind of reassurance. Then, with a sigh, she shook her head from side to side.

"You know you can’t," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. “It was you who conquered my kingdom after all.”

"I know you're scared," I said, my voice gentle but firm. "But please believe me when I say that I didn't want this war to happen. I was forced into it by circumstances beyond my control,” I added.

Maria looked at me, her eyes filled with disbelief.

"How can I believe you?" she asked, her voice laced with anger. "You took me captive, you're holding me prisoner. How can you claim to care about peace?"

"I understand that it's difficult to see things from my perspective," I said, my voice calm but forceful. "But I am doing everything in my power to prevent this war from causing any more harm than it already has,” I explained.

Maria's eyes narrowed, and for a moment, I feared that she would lash out at me. But then, to my surprise, she sighed and shook her head once again.

"I don't know what to believe," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. "All I know is that I miss my family, and I want to go home."

"You're homesick," I said, my voice softer now. "And I promise you, I will do everything in my power to make sure that you are treated with the respect and dignity that you deserve."

That statement made Maria look at me for a long moment.

Maria's eyes narrowed as she listened to me, and I could see the skepticism etched into every line of her face. I knew that I had a lot of work to do to convince her of my sincerity. She would act tough.

"Treat me with respect and dignity? After you took me here, you expect me to believe that?" she asked, her voice laced with disbelief. "That's a convenient story, but I don't buy it," she stated firmly.

I could see the doubt in her eyes, and I knew that I had to do something to prove it.

"I understand your skepticism," I said, my voice calm and even. "But it's the truth. I'm not the only one who have authority in this empire,” I explained. “Please give me a chance.”

Maria's eyes narrowed even further, and I could see the challenge in them.

"Prove it," she said, her voice cold and hard. "Prove to me that you're not just another power-hungry prince looking to expand his territory,” she exclaimed.

I knew that this was a crucial moment, and I had to do everything in my power to make her see that I was telling the truth.

"Very well," I said, my voice steady. "What do you want me to do?"

But Maria answered me with silence.

As the tension between us grew, I glanced over at the small table in the room, searching for something, anything, to ease the tension. I spotted a tray of refreshments, and I gestured toward it with a smile.

"Would you like something to drink or a snack?" I asked, trying to keep my voice light.
