I think he's trying to give it to characters he genuinely likes while they're still relevant. Characters like Thomas will have a chance at MVP every season, but lesser-utilized ones like Arthur have very few chances.

Ps I’m sorry if I’m being a bit harsh on this retrospective I like it I just didn’t expect a character introduced in season seven to get the MVP award rather than an older character we all know and love that’s all. Again sorry for my harsh words please forgive me.

I honestly believe if you took the best episodes from Seasons 6 and 7 and discarded the rest, you’d get a pretty solid season. Looking forward to the Pack miniseries! Your DVD video inspired me to get their three DVDs recently!

I really thought Thomas would get the MVP award after six seasons of not getting it and goes to the one that I least expected so disappointing to see Arthur a new character and a character that the show forgot about over time got the MVP award instead of one that has been around for a while like Thomas. Not cool!

Great review Tug and congrats on the engagement. S7 definitely has a lot of great classic style elements, that equal cast of S3, that comfy atmosphere of S4 and that storybook style slower tone of S1. Also find it interesting that Thomas and Gordon were the two primary mains this season which actually balances nicely with S1 having them as the two main leads. I agree with what you say about Thomas, they seem really inconsistent on what type of character they want him to be from this season onwards. One other reason his naughtier side I feel works in the case of Henry and not with the others is because well Henry and Thomas having beef with each other is a recurring part of their dynamic, something that’s pretty consistent in the show up to this point. Him being dicky to Arthur and Salty out of nowhere just feels odd. Honestly thought Gordon would get the MVP but can totally understand why you chose Arthur.

Interesting Video Season 7 should of been the Last Thomas Season Period or I wish we got more Classic Style Seasons. Anyway as for more Videos I would like more Sodor Finest mabey on Diesel, Mavis, Oliver or Even Emily or Rosie.
