camaleónica - luz de noche (nightlight)

I finished this a while ago actually, I didn't post it because I guess I forgot about it because something about me isn't satisfied with it. I realized that this makes for a good demo, and suddenly my plan is to release a demo with 5 camaleónica songs (including en pleno deseo from last year) and eventually record them professionally for a proper release. these 5 songs are all songs I've started in 2021 but still haven't gotten around to finishing them, but they are on my to do list. this song in particular I started in may of this year. my plan for camaleónica was (and still is) to make it into a full collaborative band. at first I had my brother and my cousin but I think they just lost interest or something (plus we're all busy). I think I'm better off finding other people who can be more dedicated. my brother actually came up with the bass intro, and he recorded all of the bass here as a matter of fact (some parts I told him what to do) but this was an example of us trying to make a song all together. in the end neither my cousin or he ending up liking the song lol, but I did so I decided to just finish it myself. overall it's a good song but admittedly the recording is pretty rough and demo-like, which is cool, but like I said before I'd like to take all these camaleónica songs and record them in a studio (i'd also like to make a full band with this and play shows). also I borrowed a microphone for the vocals from someone and it kept making this buzzing sound (you can probably hear it in some parts although I tried to take it out). the lyrics are something I wrote back in may as well, it's basically about this beauty in nighttime (particularly in the streets of mexico city) and also partly about wishing I could burst out  of my head and live in my own nonphysical conciousness (like  dream). I made it a point to only write lyrics in spanish for camaleónica, even though I think spanish is a subpar language for poetry (at least for me). I prefer english much more and I find it infinitely more expressive (also much better vocabulary) so because I choose to write in spanish I'm automatically making the lyrics for this band even worse. english translation included

una luz caida en el suelo llora
(a fallen light on the ground cries)

levanta y se despedaza
(it lifts and breaks itself into pieces)

se cae en la calle bañada en el sueño
(it falls in the dreambathed street)

retorno de lluvia y piedras humedas
(rainreturn and humid rocks)

las palabras que se sueltan de una garganta cálida
(the words that spill from a warm throat)

movimientos dispersos en la noche
(dispersed movements in the night)

noche fria, noche suya
(cold night, her night)

recuerdos de lluvia recorren el hilo
(rain memories line the thread)

trasplantados en movimientos dispersos en la noche
(transplanted in dispersed movements in the night)

mis ojos caídos en el aire lloran
(my eyes fallen in the air cry)

despedazan mi piel por cada lluvia
(for every rain they unpiece my skin)

estoy bañado en el sueño
(I'm bathed in the dream)

quiero salir de mi piel y ser la pura voz
(I went to break out of my skin and be the pure voice)

suelta de una garganta humeda
(let go from a warm throat)

dispersa en la noche
(dispersed in the night)

noche perfecta
(perfect night)

sin cuerpo
(bodyless)

solo el hilo de pensamientos dispersos
(only the thread of dispersed thoughts)

quiero llover
(I want to rain)

entrar por la salida
(to enter through the exit)

a noche cálida y levantada
(to warm lifted night)

Comments

i originally wrote it for ser as a bonus track for physical versions of "like a higanbana to the elegy". i'm going to release it on "sadness - old songs 2013" whenever i'm done with it

Back in April 2018, you uploaded a video called "Hope" on your YouTube channel. The only description you gave was that the song was recorded in 2013. As far as I know, the song never got an official release. Will it ever get an official release and what project was the song written for? I really enjoy the song and would like to purchase it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yh3iIzoXfUk
