this track is from the same session as "touch hour on early autumn flying". to be part of a compilation demo of old songs written/recorded around early 2014 that were never finished and released. I don't remember when exactly I made this, the file says that the last update was from april 14th 2014, but my memory tells me this song predates that. the timeframe is somewhat accurate though, early 2014. I'm not sure what I intended to do with this song past what is recorded here, it's almost like I completely forgot about it. but I think what's here suffices, and it wouldn't add anything to build upon the song anymore, since it's so old and exclusive to that time in my life many years ago. I never wrote any potential lyrics either, so this is purely instrumental. the song has always been entitled "prayer", not necessarily a religious prayer, but rather a prayer towards whatever ether or energy can help me feel whole. praying to be touched by this elusive essence, without which I felt sad and empty. this song was a prayer for true love.
like I mentioned in the description for touch hour on early autumn flying, this song was originally intended for a completely different album, which of course had a completely different concept. I know there was probably a more elaborate story and concept for this song as it wove within the rest of the album, but that album will never be realized, which is okay. removed from that and brought to light as an artifact under the name sadness, this song is just as simple as a prayer. hope. and deep desire
