Goldfinches for joy and simplicity

I've been a wee bit obsessed with Goldfinches lately. Why?? Who knows.
Birds always, Goldfinches lately, reasons never.
I posted this photo on socials but wanted to share a little behind the scenes here just for you folks. I looked it up after I made these paintings and it turns out Goldfinches are often a symbol of happiness or joy but also specifically simplicity. I thought was particularly fitting in this time of staying home, taking pause, and learning just what does and does not matter.
Speaking of things that matter: being able to play and explore like this is so important to me as an artist. You are all a huge part of how I'm able to give myself that time and I appreciate every second of it. Thank you for that.
