She ended his Boxing Dreams

Joru started crying after getting knocked down and realizing  he couldn’t get up. He just lost again, after adamantly  demanding a rematch. His first match against Kimi ended in 3 seconds when he got knocked out cold, from the first freaking blow.

Everyone thought it was fluke, how could the star boxer in their college be knocked out by a freshman girl? And in 3 fucking seconds?? WTF.

2 weeks later a rematch was scheduled. Not wanting to embarrass the Boxing captain again, Kimi decided she would go easy on Joru Senpai this time. But all that accomplished was that it extended his embarrassment, and he ended up taking more punishment. He would have been better off getting knocked out again. The sad thing is that it was obvious to Joru now that Kimi could have literally ended it anytime she wanted. She could have ended HIM if she really wanted.

The issue was that the boxing league only accepts one candidate from each major university once every 4 years. Joru has been training since the age of 8, with one goal in mind- to join the national boxing league.

As it turns out, earlier this year the boxing league decided it would now be an inter-gender league, finally allowing women to join.

Joru was a senior, and it was time for the league to select someone to join them from his college. If it was only men in contention, Joru would surely be selected, he defeated all of them at his university quite easily. Unfortunately for him though, freshman Kimi started training this year. She was the first girl at their school interested in joining the now inter-gender national boxing league.

“I..I’m sorry Senpai…Shit, did I go too hard again?” Kimi was genuinely sorry. She felt bad for Joru Senpai. It must be hard to train your whole life towards a goal, and then she comes along, after training less than a month, and absolutely destroys you. Then 2 weeks later destroys you again, leaving you a weeping mess in front of everyone.

Joru couldn’t even be mad at Kimi, she was a very kind person. All he could do was mourn his boxing dreams, and cry out of hopelessness.

The scene just looked sad to everyone watching. They knew what Joru’s dreams were for the last 14 years, and everyone expected him to be selected into the league come his senior year. What was he going to do now? ..And crying in front of everyone like this…. The audience just silently watched as Kimi offered to help the pathetic man up.

Joru’s legs were still gone, that last punch really shut his body down. He needed a couple people to come help him up and get him to the infirmary.
