Jay was the ranked #2 boxer in the men’s league and just so happened to train at the same gym as Linda. Linda herself was an aspiring boxer in the women’s league, but wasn’t good enough to be ranked yet.
The two were eyeing each other at the gym all the time though, and started flirting occasionally here and there.
“Hey we should spar, if I win I get to take you out on a date” Jay said jokingly, hoping to take Linda out for dinner finally.
“Haha, sure, I could use some pointers anyway” Linda agreed, knowing she stood no chance against a ranked fighter. But this was just an excuse so they could have some time together and finally go on a date. Plus she really was hoping he could help her out with her boxing.
It ended in quite the disaster though, just 15 seconds in….
“Jay come on… stop playing around……” Linda said with an eye-roll thinking he was joking.
“Jay!?........” Linda moved closer getting a little worried and then finally realized Jay wasn’t playing around.
“Oh Fuck!…he really is out….Fuck! Fuck!” Linda whispered curses at herself. She didn’t want other members of the gym to notice what had happened.
When Jay finally came to, she helped him up on a stool. He was still pretty out of it, and probably had a concussion. Not something you want as a competitive boxer. You never know when a knockout is permanently going to damage your chin, making you more susceptible to knockouts forever onwards.
“Are you okay?” Linda said, worried what he would think about her now.
Of course Jay was embarrassed beyond belief, but tried to keep his composure.
“Yea, I’m okay….uhh sorry..about that” Jay said in a low voice, looking down, blushing out of embarrassment. His head was still spinning a little bit.
“What are you talking about!? I’m sooo sorry, I think I went all out because you’re….well, you’re you, you know, I’m really really sorry” Linda apologized profusely while trying to make him feel better. In reality, she wasn’t really going all out. It was just that Jay had never seen a punch that fast before. Linda is a small framed girl, so it’s not the weight of her punch that messed him up. It’s the punches you don’t see coming that really knock you out.
People didn’t know it yet, but women are just straight up better fighters than men. They might not have the muscles to compare, but when it comes to speed and skill, women are light years beyond men. Poor Jay was just shown that first hand.
“I guess, I’ll be paying for dinner then..haha” Linda tried to salvage the moment with a bad joke, but she really still did want to go out on that date with Jay, and was hoping he still liked her.
