Wrap-up

And that's a wrap. Dawn of the Void is done. The whole tale is over 450,000 words long, and will be released as a trilogy over the course of this year along with audiobooks produced by Podium.
Thanks for being part of this journey. When I set out to write Dawn I had no idea how long it might be or where the plot would go. I was writing two or three chapters a day during those first few months, and it was a blast. But the webnovel format is tricky. I'm not the first author to find it difficult to navigate negative feedback on Royal Road, but over the months the daily pushback took a toll.
This Patreon was a source of positivity, however, and your support and enthusiasm helped safeguard my determination to write the best story I could. Thank you for sticking with me and James, for following this crazy adventure to its end, and for the comments and private messages.
What's next? I'm 90k into Bastion 2 and plan to publish it in April. I'll let the Patreon roll for another month for the lower tiers to finish the tale, then shut it down at the end of February. I'm not sure when or if I'll return to writing webnovels, but you never know.

So I love the dawn of the void but I have a few suggestions that I would be honored if you considered. At the very end of the novel it would be nice if James could get together with Jessica. James could could give her 9,000 points (one cubes worth) and raise her arete so she is not so bothered by her past. At the end have James assign 90% of the points he has to himself. It is better to have a high level boss than 10 mediocre ones, if the enemy returns. Also give a feature that over 10,000 points in vitality makes you immortal. Because what happens when james comes to the end of his mortal life span. He could make someone younger than him powerful w mental defense but after that no one else can transfer points. Eventually someone won’t be able to take the mental assault of the eternal. Then the nemesis’s will return.

I’m certain your fans would continue with you to read Bastion 2 and 3 (!) chapters as your write them. I certainly would. Great fun reading the raw, minimally edited chapters. I definitely enjoyed this web novel, and very much looking forward to Bastion 2. thanks!

While there is a story to be told where James convinces the world of the threat, is probably attacked, conspired against, and he proves his truth through overwhelming power before creating his own planetary corps of highly ranked soldiers, fabricators, etc, I don't think there's enough emotional material for me to want to write it all. May be best left to the imagination as to how it all plays out.
