Questions about Royal Road & Patreon
Added 2022-06-29 13:42:55 +0000 UTCHey everyone,
As most of you probably know, I'm a complete novice when it comes to web novels on Royal Road and Patreon. And despite hitting the Rising Stars list (unexpectedly awesome), I can't help but suspect I'm overlooking a bunch of best practices/expected behaviors on both platforms.
So I thought: maybe you awesome folks could clue me in on anything I'm missing? For example, I didn't know authors were supposed to award Rep on RR for comments, or to call out reviews and thank the posters in the next entry until someone clued me in.
How often should I ask for ratings/reviews? How often should I promote my Patreon? Should I give 5 rep points for every comment, or is that too much? Do people expect me to reply to every comment? Stuff like that.
Can you think of anything I'm missing? Maybe I'm just paranoid, but each day I look at the pre- and post-author notes fields and feel like I should be doing more with them.
Any feedback would be most welcome.

Also it might bring more people in if you included links in your Amazon bio. Most of the people I subscribe to on both Patreon and RR I only found because of those links.
