Tracer/Widow Animation - BTS #1

I've been itching to do another animation lately, so I decided to do one. I had an idea in my head of Tracer and Futa Widow. Haven't done much Futa work... ever really. But I figured I'd give it a shot because for some reason that seems to be all I god damn see these days and maybe it will go over well.

I haven't done a lot of animation work in Blender over the past 6 months because of how time consuming the process is compared to SFM. Just checking on how the animation flows in the viewport can be a bit of a chore, but with this animation I was able to get the two characters isolated playing back at 30 fps, which was good to see how the animation played back. Their hair is what really slows things down (they're stupidly high poly, but they look good).

The second point is render time. This scene is just 7 seconds long. The final output will be 1920x1080 at 60 fps, but I'm upscaling it from 1280x720 and interpolating it to 60 fps from 30. Rendering it out at 1080p60 would take actual days. Rendering this out at 720p30 at 200 samples took 4 minutes per frame on my 2070 Super. Doesn't sound like a lot, until you consider that the entire scene took 13 hours to render.

This is really what prevents me from doing animation work more often. That and motivation that swings back and forth more often than a child on a swing. However, I think this scene came together pretty well.

I plan to add more scenes in this animation; I really want to flesh it out. This one is pretty much done, but there's a couple sequences of frames I want to re-render, namely the bits where Tracer's hair is clipping through her right arm.
