Mythic Magazine #46 Content Poll
Added 2024-09-05 00:09:39 +0000 UTCBehold, it is time! Time for another Mythic Magazine content poll!
The last few issues had a nice range of different subject matter, from the Kozen Crest dungeon to the magical traditions generator. And, a few issues back, we got the writing fiction with Mythic article that had been languishing on this poll for years.
So what shall we get next! That is for you to decide, Tier 3 Mythicists!
As usual, there are ten article ideas below. Select as many as you wish. I'll take the two top vote-getters from separate categories (Variations, What If, Tool Box, and Interrupt).
Without further ado, let the polling BEGIN!

The star system generator really smashed this poll!

2024-09-11 00:17:43 +0000 UTCThis is why I wanted to see the 5-Act Structure for Mythic. To play out Shakesperean-levels of intrigue and reversal. I keep all the NPC dialogue tools in a binder and will add the new One-Page Character Crafter and the d20 lists of NPC-alignment responses I recently generated using AI.

Originally that article was intended specifically for intrigue, but I expanded it into any situation where a group of people's attitudes matter, and those attitudes can change. It would work well for court intrigue, group dynamics like simulating NPC members of a party, trying to contain a scandal by convincing and juggling the parties involved to play along, and even lighter stuff like roleplaying a sitcom like Friends.

2024-09-05 23:46:39 +0000 UTCLooks like we'll be playing with stars and planets in this next issue :) The found journal looks like it will also make it, although that one is close with a few others, so I'll give it another day or two and see how the poll develops.

2024-09-05 21:02:19 +0000 UTCI agree, it is useful as a tool to inject into a regular Mythic adventure. I should probably frame the article idea as also ways to use the AC in Mythic for things like interrupts, starting adventures, moving adventures along when they stall out, creating backgrounds for NPCs and places, creating remote events, hearing news, etc. Any time you need a narrative that arrives almost instantly fully formed without the need for further development, the AC can be used for it.

2024-09-05 20:59:47 +0000 UTCI'm glad you like the ideas :) Please keep in mind that I don't throw these ideas away when they don't make it on a poll. They get recycled and will return at a later date. Eventually just about every idea sees the light of day, it just depends on what people are in the mood for at a given time.

2024-09-05 20:57:08 +0000 UTCNo one asked for road warrior rules, this is one of those ideas I added because I thought it would be fun to make a ruleset that was just gonzo style, over the top, vehicular combat craziness lol You're right, there's not a lot out there these days. There's probably not much call for rules like this within most solo games, so I would probably couple this with ideas for centering adventures around the need for road combat.

2024-09-05 20:55:51 +0000 UTCWe so badly need Road Warrior rules, there are NO Mad Max type games out there at all.

2024-09-05 13:42:13 +0000 UTCI already use adventure Crafter draws for interrupt scenes sometimes, if the deck is at hand. It is a lot of fun and gives playable results.
