The Crypts Of Kozen Crest

Greetings Mythicists! I want to show you the cover of the solo adventure module that will be featured in the next issue of Mythic Magazine, #44.

The Crypts of Kozen Crest is the third solo adventure ever published in MM. It's been a while since the last one, issue #22 with Journey To Kitra Isle.

Kozen is a straight up, old school style dungeon delve. It's got windy passages, it's got monsters, it's got traps, it's got strange lore. All kinds of dark, moody, dangerous stuff. Plus treasure, of course. It's all wrapped in a Mythic solo shell so each time you play, it's going to be a different experience.

While the adventure will develop a theme and backstory, you can also discard those portions and go straight to the dungeon. In this sense, the module doubles as a random dungeon generator that can be dropped into any fantasy adventure.

I hope you like this sneak peek! I'm working on putting as much content into this as I can before time runs out :)

Happy adventuring!

Yes, most definitely. I think doing the Game Loops article got me thinking about classic dungeon delves, since that's a loop I focus some attention on. That got me to thinking about how much I like classic dungeon exploration, which I haven't done in a while, and that got me to thinking about wanting to do a solo adventure with that in mind.

Thank you :)

Thank you :) That's an interesting idea, adding the Mystery Matrix. There is some preamble to the adventure before the dungeon itself, events leading up to the dungeon to give it some backstory and purpose. This portion of the adventure could be expanded using the Mystery Matrix. Or, maybe turn it into a two-part adventure, with the mystery being where the dungeon is located.

I would love that. Something like exploring a derelict spacecraft or an alien city would be interesting.

I'm curious to know if the Game Loops research/writing process informed anything in this adventure module?

This is a superb addition to the family! I wholeheartedly agree with the idea of a sci-version!! Keep up the amazing work, it is very appreciated!!!

Wow I love this so much! Especially the fact that its different each time so re-playable and can be used separately as a dungeon generator too. Hope for more like this (as someone stated maybe a sci-fi version with a starship generator, etc.)

Kevin-Peter

Thank you so much for this. Your modules are a masterclass in crafting our own adventures. I will find some way to add the Mystery Matrix to it.

If this works out maybe a Sci fi themed "Dungeon " would be a good future delve
