Progress Journal, July, #2
Added 2024-07-19 18:23:01 +0000 UTCGreetings Mythicists! I hope your July is going well and your games are plentiful!
Here's what's been going on lately ...
Micro Mythic
I started work on a compilation book of the One-Page rulesets. This is more than a straight up compilation of magazine content, however; I want this to be a sort of alternative, super simple Mythic and Crafter all-in-one book. I'm debating whether to have it be a purely solo toolkit, or to expand it into a full yet simple RPG.
I don't want to get too complicated with it. After all, it's supposed to be simple lol Philosophical question: if you take a collection of One-Page rulesets, and collect them into a single larger ruleset, is it still "one-page"? I have no idea, but I'm doing it anyway.
Like a lot of my stuff, I want this to be modular. Use what you want, ignore what you don't want. So the rules will be broken up into One-Page rules. Use them all, or use only what you like.
Considering that I'm expanding beyond the original concepts, I'll probably have to make additional One-Page rules to go along with this. I don't know if those will appear in the magazine first as content, or will only appear in Micro Mythic. We shall see!
Shout out to Mel for naming this book. I was struggling with something better than "One-Page Compilation", which wasn't really accurate, and Mel suggested "Micro Mythic". Not only is it accurate, but it's also alliteravely catchy and I'm a sucker for alliteration!
Here is how the draft of the title is looking so far:
Mythic GME 2e Offset Edition
I'm still working on a high quality, offset edition of Mythic GME 2e. I've been thinking about what information to put on the endsheets, and I think I've got the most essential tables there. That should make it easy to find them. This project has been moving slowly because other stuff keeps moving to the head of the line. This is one of those things though that even if no one wants it, I still want to make it just so I can hold it in my hands :)
Here's what the front end sheet looks like right now:

Speaking Of Second Editions
Work on Mythic RPG 2e continues. Right now, it's about up to page 100 and I expect it to top out at around 300 pages. That sounds like a lot, but you know me ... much of that is examples and examples. There are also lots of tables. I originally meant to go minimal with the number of Meaning tables, and the opposite is happening. There are Meaning tables all over the place!
The Character chapter is turning out to likely be the largest section of the book. It's at about 50 pages right now, and will likely finish at around 70 pages. The majority of it is suggestions and ideas for creating your Character and NPCs. The actual crunchy rules parts make up only about 10 pages or so. There are also lots of Meaning tables, I think 22 of them as of now, that you can use to randomly create Characters.
That's about it for now! Thank you for being a Mythicist Patreon and supporting what I do, it's hugely appreciated! Happy adventuring :)
Comments
My guess right now is that it would come in at around 60 pages. It'll have the 4 One-Pagers that have been published, and maybe about 4 more new ones (although some of those may show up in future Mythic Magazines before Micro Mythic comes out).

2024-07-23 15:15:53 +0000 UTCI have compiled your One-Page rulesets into a thin binder. It is my go-to for bringing the greater parts of Mythic with me w/o carrying the compilations or flipping through a tablet. If you keep Micro Mythic as thin as the first edition of the blue book, consider a run of three-hole punched copies. It would be a cool way for anyone to add solo roleplaying tools to any game they may be keeping in a binder.

2024-07-20 00:22:33 +0000 UTCI really don't know. I started on it this month, and it would be great to have it by the end of the year. However, a lot will depend on how much new stuff I add. I won't know that for sure until I get deeper into it.

2024-07-19 23:26:17 +0000 UTCIt is "Certain" I'll get this when it comes out, been really looking forward to it since I heard the one sheet compilation being whispered. My Solo-GM says I don't have the make the check if it includes a micro rpg, I can just but it.

2024-07-19 22:17:20 +0000 UTCAny idea on when the Micro Mythic book will be done? I'm really looking forward to that book! (Not really expecting an answer, I just have nothing to lose)

2024-07-19 20:48:05 +0000 UTCI took your suggestion, Jeremy, to combine the columns for the Fate Check. That was actually originally how it appeared in the text of the book, but I changed it to four column because I worried it would be confusing. However, for the end sheet it's okay since any confusion can be cleared up by referring to the main text. This made enough room to fit in a few more tables.
