Progress Journal, June #2

Greetings Mythicists! Summer is approaching fast in my part of the world, and it's getting hot! That's another good reason to stay inside and play roleplaying games, right? Works for me :)

Here's some stuff that's going on ...

Softcover Scramble 
I had an issue recently with some of my DTRPG standard color softcover print on demand books unexpectedly getting rejected by the printer. These are books that had been previously accepted, some of them years ago. DriveThru staff has been great with working with me, as usual, and it's all getting sorted out. So, if you see a softcover edition is strangely missing from a book listing, this may be why. I'm working to get those books back online by updating the files for the printer.

Mythic Magazine #43
I'm working on the next issue of Mythic Magazine. This one contains an article about using Mythic to write fiction. This is something that I have mentioned here and there, going way back to 2003, but I've never gone into any depth on my thoughts about how to go about doing this. Well, the idea finally won the content poll after years of being passed by, so this article is now happening. I'm aware that this idea only appeals to a subset of players, so the article expands on the techniques for fiction writing and applies them to solo play as well. This way, even if you aren't interested in writing a novel with Mythic, you may be interested in applying some of these ideas to get a more narrative solo adventuring experience.

Discord Emojis
Mod extraordinaire JM at the Discord group suggested making custom emojis, which I didn't even know was a thing. I whipped up a few and sent them to him, where he made the magic happen and BOOM there they are! I need to retool them a bit, because they're hard to read. But now I'm enchanted by this idea so I may make more anyway! The current emojis include Yes, Exceptional Yes, the icons from the Adventure Crafter Deck, and a few others.

Mythic Magazine Compilation #6
The sixth Compilation is just about ready to go! I'm biding my time now, looking for a good day where I have the opportunity to launch it. As usual, the PDF will appear first, followed by the POD editions within a month or so.

Email Newsletter
I send out an email newsletter each month, and I've been trying to beef it up and make it more interesting. I know I'm not super fond of marketing emails, so I definitely don't want it to be that. I try to include a solo play tip, some random thoughts, mention a few books, and include a discount for something. I've never been comfortable with the business side of things, but I love communicating with Mythic players, so I want to try and make this email newsletter feel as much like a conversation as possible. If that makes sense. If nothing else, it should be fun for you and me! We'll see how this thing evolves. If you have any thoughts on how to make it better, I'd love to hear your ideas!
