Progress Journal, April 2024
Added 2024-04-12 16:31:38 +0000 UTCGreetings Mythicists! I hope everyone is having a good April so far, and all your Random Events have been Player Character Positive :)
Here's a rundown on what's been going on and what's in development!
I've been working on PODifying the latest Mythic Magazine Compilations. MMC4 got the POD treatment on DriveThru a few weeks ago, and MMC5 is next. I just got notification from DriveThru today that the test copies of the printed MMC5 are ready to go, so I'll order those. With any luck and if all is well, those should be available publicly within 3 weeks.
I'm focusing my design time on Mythic Roleplaying 2e. I want to also work on getting the next Compilation done, #6, but I'm making that a secondary priority right now to getting the current section of MRPG2e finished.
The second section of MRPG2e is for setting and world creation, adapting the rules from MM38. I had originally intended to make this part of the character creation section, but it got to be so big that it seemed more fitting for it to be its own chapter. That's almost done, I just have to finish up the Big Example. Then it's on to the characters chapter.
With the setting chapter done that'll be 2 chapters completed, 10 more to go! The first 3 sections of the book are among the biggest since it comprises a lot of MRPG2e's most important content.
I'm slowly trying to build up the Word Mill Games website more, adding more links to the Resources section and just generally trying to make the site more useful to players. I've been putting tidbits of news on the front page, or highlighting interesting things. This will always be a work in progress, but I like when the site doesn't just present all of my books but is also useful and informative. There's more I'd like to do with it, like placing a section to upload and download community made content.
I relaunched the Mythic Magazine Podcast this month, with the start of an actual play. I really enjoyed doing it and the reception to it has been great, so I'm hoping I can do this every month. I'm planning to keep each podcast episode short and sweet, somewhere between 20 to 30 minutes. For now it'll be me playing an adventure, but I'd like to always use it to highlight some Mythic or Crafter rule. I see it as a live-action unfolding Big Example. The setting has turned into a zombie apocalypse in the future, set in a protected domed city. It has strong dystopian tones. My adventures often seem to take a dystopian twist! I may also do more interviews down the line as podcast episodes.
Also recently new, the Patreon added a chat function to the Community section. There are two chat threads in there, a general thread and one about making solo adventure modules. I like the addition of the chat functionality, it opens up opportunity for more discussion that isn't directly tied to a post on the Patreon.
I think that's about it! Have a great day everyone, and happy adventuring :)

And I love the idea of community made content, I would welcome that and participate with it also! Very exciting stuff!
