Word Mill Games Chats Now Live!
Added 2024-03-19 18:03:50 +0000 UTCLet's get chatty!
I've added a new feature to the Patreon: chats. It should be visible in your Community tab and is available to all tiers. It's basically a social-media style chat function that complements the more forum based thread and post model of the main page.
I'm starting with a general chat room: Word Mill Games General Discussions. As the name implies, this is for Mythicists to talk about anything you want. Raise questions, offer suggestions, talk about your latest adventures ... anything you want to throw out there to the community!
I'm really excited about bringing the chat function into this group to offer an alternative, and sometimes more dynamic, ability to communicate between us all :)
I'd like to open additional chats, but before I do that I'm looking for your input. What would you like to see? Or, is a General Discussion chat enough?
My initial thought was to have a separate chat channel for each issue of the magazine. This would allow players to offer their thoughts on rules, and suggest their own house rules or ways they use them. By keeping each issue to one chat, it makes it easier to find if you want to look for a particular ruleset you're interested in.
However, maybe that's getting too granular with the chats? Maybe it should be a chat channel for the magazine in general, so all issues and their rulesets are found there. Or, maybe we keep it organic and just have the general discussion, but break it out into separate chats when a topic becomes popular enough it would benefit from having its own space.
What do you think?

2024-03-21 15:27:12 +0000 UTCFirst off, great news! A General Chat may very well be sufficient. However (and it may be too early to tell), I think a Chat for each issue of the magazine is a really good idea! At the very least, it will keep things organized. It may also help serve as a metric to track the most important desires of the community over time. I wholeheartedly agree with Roosevelt Cooper about the Solo Adventure Design Chat, as this is central to the core Mythic experience! Thank you again for this news!

2024-03-19 18:23:28 +0000 UTCI just got the first suggestion from Roosevelt Cooper, to have a chat for discussing Solo Adventure Design, as seen in MM#11. I think that's one we should do, as I'd like to discuss that with you all as well.
