The artwork goes on a page where Ranks are discussed, and how Ranks are used to gauge power and skill levels. Such as swimming speed. And how that shark most definitely has a higher swimming Rank than that guy, even with the flippers. Those flippers just aren't going to cut it.
For those of you familiar with the original red book Mythic Role Playing, you already know what Ranks are. The concept is carried forward in the second edition, but with more clarification and more attention to how they scale upward.
