I'm happy with how the "Gather A Crew" rules are turning out. As is often the case the concept has evolved beyond the initial idea. I don't know if my interpretation of this genre will fit everyone's expectation, but I hope it's fun either way :) I'm looking at movies like Oceans Eleven, Seven Samerai, and Suicide Squad as inspiration, as I feel they follow the same "gather a crew" trope. This narrative vehicle is very common in heist movies, which is why I think "heist" often gets applied to it as a name. However, the pattern doesn't seem much different to me whether it's a heist or a military mission or any other unlikely goal carried out by an unusual and disparate group of people.

2023-07-17 18:54:13 +0000 UTCHeist adventures and using Mythic under pressure will be the articles for the next issue. I'm excited about the heist rules! That was an idea suggested by a Mythic player probably about six months ago and is something I've been pondering. The Procedural Drama rules in issue #26 benefited from some of the idea storming for heist rules, so in some ways this new ruleset may build upon those mechanics. We'll have to see how it takes shape over the next few weeks.
