Added 2022-10-07 17:49:55 +0000 UTCGreetings Tier 3 Mythicists! Once again the awesome responsibility of deciding the fate of the next issue is in your hands!
As usual, feel free to choose from as many of the options below as you like. I will select the top two vote getters that fall into different categories: What If (WI), Variations (V), Tool Box (TB), and Interrupt (I).
Good luck! :)

I will definitely have that option appear again. I agree, mundane life can make for wonderful adventures. One of my most memorable adventure series was simply about a young woman traveling around the country. She met people, did odd jobs, and every town was a new and interesting experience. I played that adventure 20 years ago and I still remember it fondly.

2022-10-13 14:31:20 +0000 UTCI can't wait to see how you handle puzzle creation, I've been dying for some sort of puzzle generation, and myself wondering just how it could be done. And the other winner is exciting too, I love to do long, complicated, sprawling stories, but I get lost in the details and have a hard time staying organized with it.

2022-10-12 11:55:08 +0000 UTCComplicated Adventures is the winner by a wide margin with Dungeon Style Puzzlers. I have lots of thoughts on the first one since this is an age old problem. Actually, I should consider that an Interrupt type of article. I have to admit when a Mythic player suggested the dungeon puzzles idea as an article my first thought was, "How in the world could that work in solo play?" It was a last minute addition to the content poll so it's not a concept I've put a lot of thought into before this. Then I got hit with an idea and I'm excited to try it out :)

2022-10-07 23:59:07 +0000 UTCSo far it looks like "expansive and complicated campaigns" is winning by a wide margin. "Dungeon style puzzles" is second, although it has some challengers close on its heels.

2022-10-07 23:18:04 +0000 UTCI'm glad you like the options :) I think there's a good mix of variety in there this month. I'm noting which category each article falls under as well to make voting a bit easier.

2022-10-07 23:04:02 +0000 UTCThank you for this message, and for explaining it in so much wonderful detail. I have seen what you talk about suggested before, and I think you're absolutely right (you also state it very well). The Location Crafter system can easily be used for any kind of expanding loop system. Reading your cyberpunk job loop example made me think of using it as a lifepath system for character background generation. It could also be used as an adventure seed generator for an ongoing campaign, with higher results generating greater dangers and rewards. I will add that to the list of article ideas. It'll probably appear on next month's content poll!

2022-10-07 18:21:09 +0000 UTCVoted for Using Mythic and Crafter books to write fiction and novels (WI) because this topic has been hanging around the polls for a long time and I think it has been sorely neglected in the magazine. The Mythic core book and Adventure Crafter expressly state they are useful for writers but we don't usually talk about it or see a lot of success stories on the various social media outlets. It comes up ... maybe once a month in the Word Mill Discord and I'd like to see it get spotlighted in the magazine. At some point I'd also like to see a discussion of the Location Crafter in other contexts. That is, as originally designed, I think it was intended to emulate "the dungeon crawl" which has many forms in roleplaying games (the traditional dungeon, wilderness exploration, spaceship salvaging, etc... they are all based on the same basic concept - enter location, check for encounter, loot or really it builds a sentence structure like: Somewhere something is happening and something is found.) but there are other game play loops. For instance a lot of Science Fiction play (Cyberpunk or "Space Outlaws") has a job loop... seems like you could build a set of columns that were Job Types, Patrons, Targets, Locations, and Hazards that would work equally well with the core Location Crafter/Progress Point system. The early entries on the list reflect the types of jobs a crew with little reputation might get - courier duty, basic salvage jobs, etc. As the progress points go up, their reputation goes up, now they are providing escort security, some light mercenary work, and so on. Eventually they are reaching the end of the list and with that might come some "crew choice (pick an item from the list)", "dirty jobs (things people want done... quietly), and being tossed into war-torn areas as experienced mercenaries. Escalating Progress Points reflect more difficult entries (and more rewarding) on the list. Changing the column names can change the nature of how the Location Crafter works but without changing the mechanics of the crafter. You still using the Crafter to build out a sentence: Someone wants something done somewhere where you encounter something.
