Future project poll

Greetings Tier 3 Mythicists! I hope everyone is doing well today.

There is still much to do on Mythic GME 2e, but with it only a few months off from being completed I wanted to take a pulse for what you all think should be the next project after this.

There are a number of things I know I will do, and want to do, but I'm curious what you all think should be the priority after the 2e book is done.

Please choose only one option from the choices below.

Thank you, and happy adventuring! :)

I think something along that line is important, agreed. The time to do it is after Mythic GME 2e comes out, and probably before Mythic RPG 2e. There will be all the material from GME 2e, a lot of Mythic Magazines, the variations books (at least material that hasn't been updated in another source yet), and the Crafter books. That's a lot, but I'm thinking of a single product that summarizes all of the important rules and presents them in an easy to access manner. As more stuff comes out, additional reference material can be produced or this core reference material can be updated. How exactly this is done remains to be seen and will work itself out, but I agree that a comprehensive reference resource will be necessary.

I agree. A second edition of the red book is essential. I have a plan going forward with the role the two books will play in the future: • Mythic GME 2e will be the foundational book, the definitive guide for playing Mythic solo. • Mythic GME 2e Essentials is a slimmed down version of that book, with just the most important material in it for running a solo adventure (I haven't decided for sure I will do this one yet). • Mythic RPG 2e will be the standalone, universal RPG rules. This book will also contain the solo rules from Essentials, repeating the same material so you don't need two books to use this one. However, if you wanted more embellished solo rules, you could get the core Mythic GME 2e book. • I plan to use this as a model for future releases, with the Mythic RPG book serving as the foundation for standalone RPGs and settings books. By this I mean two kinds of books: - Unique RPGs with their own settings and style that use the rules from Mythic RPG. These will basically have all the guts of Mythic RPG to run a setting specific, non-generic game. - Expansion books specifically for Mythic RPG that add more elements to the base generic system to help you build your own settings. For instance, books on fantasy magic, sci-fi settings, horror, etc.

Hello, The Red Book is definitely of utmost importance. Despite its underrepresentation in the public, I think it is well-loved and well-used by the community. Blue Book and Red Book are simply a pair that belong together, and having one in 2nd edition and the other in first simply would not do. Yours, Deathworks

I had a hard time choosing, but I followed my gut in Mythic style. You've heard from me before about my challenges in handling the scattered nature of things currently (I actually recently bought a Trapper Keeper and color coded tabs to physically compile a bunch of the tables and flowcharts). I favor any project that streamlines reference and integration of all the various pieces. I do think there's a bigger (massive) project possible that combines the "essentials" concept with the reference cards and the topical magazine content compilations. Something like a "living" digital Mythic+Crafter reference compendium, with print-friendly companion material available, makes a lot of sense to me, particularly as I envision the expansion of these product lines over time. An easily expandable, (for the ever arriving new overlays, meaning tables, Regions, etc.) searchable, and accessible format that ties together all of your work would really take the whole suite to the next level. There would be many considerations to make, and it's not the project for right now, but I believe that it's something that we Mythicists ought to endeavor to support in the long term. I can only speak for myself in saying that I would find immense value in this sort of thing.
