So, I was thinking ...

And I thought, I'm going to be interviewing Trevor Duvall. How cool is that! And then I thought, if I'm going to be interviewing him over the phone, why not do it over the internet and record it podcast style. I asked him if he thought this was a good idea, and he gave me his thumbs up.

Thus is born The Mythic Magazine Podcast!

Why not, right? I know no one wants to hear my voice, but I'm sure all of you would like to hear his. I will still write this up as an interview in the next Mythic Magazine, but I'd like to also take this opportunity to launch a podcast.

I'll post the interview here to the Patreon group, to all the Mythicists. I'm not going to set a regular schedule, but I'm thinking I'll do more podcast episodes in the future. This will become extra content as a thank you for being my Patrons :)

I don't want to get ahead of myself yet and start planning out future podcasts, let's just get this first one done and go from there. The article and the podcast episode it goes with will be kind of companions to each other. Writing the interview up in an article will give me a chance to add any supporting material if I think I can, like sidebars or other bits.

What do you all think of this idea?

Sounds amazing!!!

Great idea. You could also talk to Carl White of The Lone Adventurer.

Super excited for this!

That's a great idea :) I am new to the whole podcast realm, but I would like to continue making episodes and release them here on the Patreon. I know I am somewhat known for my lengthy play examples in my books, so having podcast play example episodes seems like a natural extension. My plan is to include episodes of The Mythic Magazine Podcast as content for the Patreon. I'm not going to set any kind of regular schedule, as the book making projects are all highest priority. However, I want to work making podcasts in during the month when the other projects are done or are on schedule. I think this will work, and will result in podcasts appearing every once in a while as they are completed.

I got to thinking about interviewing him when I saw his 9 tips video. I thought how interesting it was, and I wanted to dig deeper. I figured if a solo content creator interviewed a professional solo player for an audience of solo enthusiasts that we could really get into some detail that this community could appreciate. I would love to follow this up with more interviews of people doing interesting things in the solo realm.

yes! yes! Yes! and then maybe some actual plays where you demo how you use your tools... perhaps tie it in with the magazine where you do a podcast about some new tables/features.....

Sounds like a cool episode.

Yes! His video on 9 tips for solo play is out now. Then maybe Geek Gamers and others that post in other forms (just found one combining Mythic and Once Upon a Time card game).
