Added 2022-05-11 19:58:52 +0000 UTCHello everyone! I hope your month, and your solo adventures, are going well.
I'm working on Mythic Magazine #18, which marks the third full completion of another 6 month cycle of the ezine. That means a Mythic Compilation #3 is shortly around the corner.
I'm working on getting the print version of Compilation #2 done. I have mentioned this before, but I plan to make more POD versions available for each new publication that comes out. I'm also going to go back to previous books and make more versions available as time allows.
I got a lot of work done in the last few weeks on Mythic GME 2nd Edition. Since I am working on that edition while I'm also working on Mythic Magazine issues, it's inevitable that there is some cross-over happening: articles I write for the magazine become new potential material for second edition, and some aspects of second edition will make it into the magazine as content. For instance, I did this in issue #17 with using the 2nd edition version of Lists.
I see doing this as a win-win, in that I get to work on 2nd edition content within Mythic Magazine which helps develop it further and faster for the core book. Mythic players get access to 2nd edition material without having to wait for the core book to come out.
Another thing is, I like the experimental aspects of the magazine. This is one of the reasons why I wanted to start it in the first place. I can publish content in the magazine that maybe I wouldn't have placed in a core book because it seems so different or is exploratory. This gives that content a chance to live in the medium of the magazine and see if it has the legs to go further. While I usually take a good year or more to put out a core book, because I want to make sure it's solid, the magazine comes out every month and I can be more relaxed about it because the content isn't considered "core" to Mythic or the Crafter series, it's just ideas and content to use.
I also like how the magazine is guided by you, my Patrons. I do the content poll every month with the Tier 3 people, who choose which articles will go in. I also get a lot of my ideas for articles from suggestions by players. I like this cooperative, organic approach to the evolution of the system that is the originator of modern solo role-playing. It seems fitting to me that Mythic organically creates an RPG adventure with our personal interaction, and by the same token is itself being developed in a similarly self-determining way.
So thank you, fans of Mythic and my work :) This has been a 19 year journey that seems to just keep growing and growing, and that's all because of you :)

Hi Tana! Yep, I sure was! My first experience using Mythic was a solo game using the Marvel Superheroes FASERIP game. One of my all-time favorite systems! So excited to be a part of what you have done with Mythic and looking forward to what you have planned for the future!
