I'm probably not the best person to answer this, as my organizational habits tend to be a mess. When done on paper, I just have sheets of in piles. When done digitally, I'll use something like Google Docs or similar text processor. With digital record keeping, something I've been playing with and liking has been using software for novel writing. I've been using Scrivener, but I know there are other text organizer apps out there people use. The advantage to this kind of software is that it's familiar and simple like Google Docs or a typical word processor, but it has all kinds of tools for organizing your content and finding it again. It makes it very useful for keeping track of a wide range of ever growing details, which is what we face as solo role-players. Turns out, that's also what novelists face when writing a book, so their tools can work for us too.

I had a thought on random location crafting. How do you keep all the various bits, nested or stand alone, organized. I have been keeping a google doc, but it is getting crowded. I thought of shifting to 3x5 with condensed descriptions for reoccurring areas, but space is a bit of a consideration (maybe number them and paper clip them together), but as most of my game is digital, that maybe of limited use. Your input is welcome
